Modern Renovations LLC is truly the best renovation company I’ve ever worked with. From my very first phone call, I was greeted with outstanding customer service from the scheduling manager, office manager, and director of field operations. Living in Florida while my aging parents are in West Virginia, I naturally worry about them. George and his team treated my mom with such genuine respect and kindness, going above and beyond to ensure she felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. This is a company where the owners set a standard of excellence, and it’s carried through every single employee — from the office staff, including the office manager, to the field personnel. Their professionalism, communication, and dedication to customer satisfaction are unmatched. When it comes to renovation skills, Modern Renovations delivers top-quality craftsmanship across the board. Roof went on in a day, was impressed with how fast it went. Everyone was friendly and polite. They cleaned up really well.

Last year Modern replaced my roof and the roof vents they did an excellent job and only left behind a couple of nails. I didnt have the money then to replace the gutters. However, they sent George to take a look at the drip edge after I replaced gutters because there were cuts in it from the old gutter brackets. He offered to replace the affected drip edge pieces at no charge to make sure everything was draining from the roof as it should. Most companies don't care but Modern does. I have several other renovation projects coming I can't do myself and Modern will be who I contract for those. Hands down one of the best contractors I have worked with.

I would not recommend using this company. Poor customer service. I recently had a fence installed in January. I worked with Nathaniel and stood on my property with him while he measured the length of the fence. He quoted a price with a discount as my neighbor was signing up for a deck at the same time. After receiving the quote I email Nathaniel with concerns the length of fencing he quoted seemed short compared to the measurements of my yard and site plan. He assured me the length was correct. When the installers came to install the fence sure enough they were way short and were only fencing in about half of my yard. I called the sales man, Nathaniel twice and emailed him with no response from him at all. I called the main office and they told me they would have him call me. No call back. The installers moved a portion of the fence to the property line temporarily. Finally, the project manager came to figure out the problem. They had to charge me an additional $1,100 in materials and labor to have this fence correct to what it should have been and quoted from the start. Hands tied I needed this fence corrected as my HOA was already contacting me that the fence was now over my property line. It took them another month to finish the install leaving my back yard full of holes, mud all over which of course was tracked in by people and my dog. Now with a carpet cleaning bill, no apologies and a rude receptionist which is filling in for the office manager just pushed me off to the project manager with an attitude again to see if they could reduce the $1,100 down since this was their mistake in the first place! Also for my wasted time and addition money needed to clean rugs and carpets in my home. Of course I called the property manager and left a voicemail which has gone ignored. Think twice before using this company. I am in a new constructed neighborhood and refuse to recommend this company to any of them.

I am very pleased with the materials and installation of the new roofs on my rental property and storage shed. The work was completed quickly and I requested and received a fifty year warranty on the materials and installation.;

If I could give zero stars I would! Modern Renovations, Martinsburg WV replaced my roof in 2019, I was sold on their warranty of workmanship and product. My painters noticed a leak in my upstairs bathroom. I called Modern Renovations to come out and inspect the roof, I suspected it may be faulty boots and flashing around my vent pipes causing a leak. After many many phone calls and no-shows for scheduled appts a roofer from MR finally came out, Franklin. He went into my attic and said that it was not the roof and the leak was caused by another source. Franklin did not got onto my roof. I have had multiple contractors out tying to find the "other source" , I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to find the source of the leak. I hired a plumber to look at my pipes in the attic, had A.S.K. Heating HVAC replace ductwork in my attic, I had my attic re-insulated by Comfenergy and still the leak surfaced. One of the techs for the insulation noticed my vent pipe was allowing a lot of sun light in and said it was not normal. "If light can get in so can water" I contacted Modern Renovations once again and they finally said they would replace the boots and flashing. I had an appointment scheduled. On the day of my appointment I contacted and spoke to Franklin Cabrera, owner of MR who said he was sending a tech out to replace the boots and flashing. I took time off work and once again no one ever showed up to make the repair. This back and forth with Modern Renovation, Martinsburg WV has been ongoing with NO RESULTS. I contacted another roofing company HighPoint Roofing WV who performed a roof inspection and was able to confirm my suspicion of the boots and flashing being the issue. HighPoint provided a recommendation and I have contracted them to repair Modern Renovations shoddy work. I have reported Modern Renovation to the BBB and will be considering my legal options in suing them. This company is unprofessional and their work is questionable. I would STEER clear of this company for any work!

This company is a joke. I was sold on the amazing customer service they would provide to me. They replaced my roof in February. I have multiple problems with shoddy craftsmanship, trash left everywhere, and damage to my property. I have emailed and called and sent pictures. Someone was supposed to show up today to address my concerns and never did. I have many before and after pictures to show all the damage they did to my property.

This company does not know how to roof townhouses. They put some of my shingles on my neighbors roof. I received a violation letter from my HOA’s lawyer and notified Wes, and his crew chief came out to look at it and said if he fixed it, the roof would leak. The way the shingles were laid makes it obvious that they roofed over an elevated surface to place the shingles on my neighbors roof. My previous roof was able to stay on my property with no leaks. It still has not been fixed and this is a huge headache. The other neighbor said that the siding on their house had been moved and I notified again but again, nothing was done. I also asked if I needed to tarp the items in the attic because I was getting all new plywood and didn’t want debris all over it. I was told that debris was going to be minimal. There was debris everywhere and we have had to spend hours cleaning. Some things were damaged since we couldn’t wash them to get sawdust off. Roofing was done in one day. Their pricing was about the same as other companies for Owens Corning Shingles. Now I am looking to hire someone else to fix their mistakes.

Extremely well and through repair and replaced barn roof. They replaced wet or rotted wood and installed new roof correctly, cleaning up and removing all waste.

The work has not been completed, but we are REALLY struggling with the personnel at the office. They are rude, and do not answer my husbands questions. This makes us really regret already giving them a deposit. At this point, we are concerned of the quality of the work, and if there are issues, how will they deal with them? The reviews all looked good a month or two ago, but the recent ones are not as good. If the people who are the ones your customers need to deal with at the office are rude and inconsiderate, customers are heading into this with already red flags! If things improve we would be very happy to change our review, but at this point, we are very concerned.

Modern Renovations is the most unprofessional contractor that I ever dealt with. I am 67 years old and have never been this disappointed. Last June 2018 I had hail damage, as did many others in the area. The owners of Modern Renovations came and gave a very good impression and spoke a good game. I signed a contract to replace the roof, 4 windows and one side of the house's vinyl siding. After 4 months the roof was completed after multiple phone calls. The siding and windows took much longer. They would promise to show up time and again and now show. At least 12 times they promised to show and did not. I tried to get hold of the owners who made the promises but they could not be bothered. We had to threaten them to finish the job before winter. They eventually sent out one person to do the siding. We had to call again and again to get it finished. Again false promises. I had to demand they use house wrap, which is standard practice. The quality of the job is marginal. They had no idea how to install windows, I had to wait until June 2019 to get the job finally done. All my neighbors who hired other contractors had the repairs done in a timely manner. I would not let Modern Renovations build a dog house for me.

Roof looks great! Great experience with the whole process. The price was competitive and they used high quality materials, plus back the install with a 15 year warranty. The install was a smooth process. They arrived around 7 and got to work quickly and was done in the afternoon. The crew kept the yard clean and left no trash or nails that I can see.

They handed off to a contracting company, two guys who were in the area patching roofs. They came by, gave a reasonable estimate, got on the roof and patched it.

The roofing crew did a fine job! Santos the lead man was on top of everything.
