The technician they sent out on Jan. 5 to diagnose the problem told me that my heat pump was bad he replaced a part. (Later I wondered why I had let him replace a part if the unit needed to be replaced anyway.) I was charged $207.79 to repace the part (later I found out the part costs about $14.00 or $15.00) and they were supposed to get back to me with estimates on replacing the heat pump. That was a Wedneday. By Friday they had not gotten back to me, so I had to go through another weekend with a bad heat pump. The technician had set my heat pump on auxillary, which is very expensive. I kept the heat down to around 58 over the weekend in order to conserve electricity. I stayed in touch with Allegheny and power and found I was still using a very very high amount of electricity. I called HEMCO back on Monday, as they still had not gotten back to me with an estimate. I was told the person was still working the estimate up. By Tuesday, I still had not heard back from HEMCO. I called someone else and they came out the next day. On Thursday, a man from HEMCO finally got back to me, over a week after their technician told me my heat pump was bad. Of course he made excuses for taking so long to get me an estimate. Then he did not even have the estimate ready. By then I had hired someone else, but I got a price from him anyway. It was significantly higher than the person I used. They also would not be able to be able to put it in before the weekend, making it almost 2 weeks before actually helping me. I now feel taken advantage of by their initial charge, but I am glad I found someone else as they gave very poor service and charged alot. I gave them a lousy score on punctuality because, even though they did better than lousy on initially showing up, they were very bad (lousy) at getting back to me with an estimate, even knowing my heat pump was bad and I needed to take care of the problem ASAP.
Description of Work: I called this oompany out to check to see if my heat pump was working properly.
