 + -1 moreAgree with other reviews. High pressure sales tactics. You think you are getting a great bargain. But the fact is the meat is not that good. The steaks are decent from what I bought but I was not impressed with the pork flatiron steaks, the bacon wrapped medallions or the country ribs. Also note that the packaging is not great. Much of the meat has ice crystals even though it is supposedly sealed. And when I defrosted some things I realized it was leaking juice into the fridge which means the package was not sealed. Not worth it.

 + -1 moreI called because they have a policy that states for one year, they will replace anything questionable or meat that looks bad. This was two weeks ago and I have not heard anything back from them since. The technique of high pressure sales is very unprofessional in my opinion. There were two salesmen that kept putting pressure on me, and by the end of it, I felt almost silly if I didn't take the offer, and agreed to purchase the steak just to get them out of my garage.
Description of Work: I purchased meat through this company, all filet minon. I ate one piece and became ill. I talked my wife into trying it, and we both became ill, so we knew the meat was no good.

 + -1 morePurchased a freezer that came with a substantial package of frozen meats and the freezer died less than 9 months after it was installed. I placed numerous calls to the company and on several occasions was told they would replace the freezer. It has been 3 months and they now say they wash their hands of trying to replace the freezer and that I need to deal with the freezer manufacturer directly, even though they purchased the freezer and did not provide us with the option of purchasing an extended warranty.
Description of Work: Customer service is non-existent. Employees will tell you what they think you want to hear over an over again without coming to any conclusion for your complaint. Recently attempted to deal with company for over 3 months. Freezer failed to operate after less than 9 months of operation.

Description of Work: Capital meats sold my wife $390.00 (their price) of meat. We live in a town house with a small refrigerator and do not have room to store $390.00 of meat. This is a predatory marketing practice and it must be stopped. I believe this is a scam, by the time you realize that it and call them back to cancel the order their reply is we can't take it back because it's 'damaged' due to not being stored in a freezer. We do not have a freezer and with only two of us living in the house we do not need one. I have filed a formal complaint with the Montgomery County Consumer Protection Department and have called the BBB to recover the cost of their product. When I finally got in touch with the manager, he insisted that he would pick up the meat by 11:00 Friday night which he has not. I have attempted to contact them several times and have not received a reply, I just get a voice mail message. I am considering small claims court, if this issue isn't resolved in a timely manor I have joined Angie's list for the sole purpose of exposing this company, I will never do business with the people ever again

 + -1 moreOnly 20% of the meat was worth barbecuing. The rest was cubed and left to cook for hours in a slow cooker. They never followed up to find out if we were satisfied, needed more product, or anything else. Hit and run !
Description of Work: They come by in a refrigeration truck, selling meat and a freezer. I bit, and got a 7 cu.ft. freezer full of meat for $1K. I would have been a fair deal if the meat hadn't been so tough. Fillets, strips, everything was tough as shoe leather. Tenderize or marinate as you might; this meat was going to be chewy. They never called or checked in to see how we were doing or if we were happy with their service. It is nice to have a freezer to take advantage of grocery store sales. But we could have bought the freezer at Lowes for $170.I can not recommend Capital Meats.

 + -1 moreI was pulling into my driveway and a truck pulled up marked "Capital Meats". Bryant was selling frozen meats and seafood and was ready to negotiate. I have never bought anything off a truck and will never again. I was having a BBQ the next day, thought the shrimp would be a good idea, and decided to take a chance. I purchased 2 boxes of cooked shrimp, 2 boxes of uncooked shrimp and 2 boxes of Tilapia. After opening the boxes I realized I had been taken. It was way overpriced!! I defrosted the cooked shrimp and it was TERRIBLE!!! The box read "peeled" but the shell was still on it. The texture was soft and mushy; and it had a strange taste. I threw the box away along with the other box of cooked shrimp. I have not tried the uncooked shrimp nor the Tilapia yet; and will probably just throw them away as well. I will never buy anything from "Capital Meats" again and I will not purchase anything off a truck in the future.

 + -1 moreThey came to my door selling frozen beef, chicken, and seafood. He told me it was grass fed beef, which I later discovered it was not. My husband decided to buy the beef. We have both been very disappointed with the quality of the beef. Some of the cuts are ok (the filets are pretty good), but most of them are low quality. The burgers are inedible. And some of the individually wrapped pieces seem to be leaking as I defrost them. Would not buy from them again.
Description of Work: Purchased a large quantity of individually wrapped frozen steak and beef in different cuts. Cannot remember the exact date or price, but that is my best guess.
