Scheduled day prior, no one showed up. Hours passed no one responded to my calls or texts. Drive to their "24 hour" business and no one is even there to respond or deal with issues face to face. Not a trustworthy company. Even if they do show up now, given a false arrivals time and hours passing with zero communication. I will never advise anyone to use this company. I doubt they will ever show up for me or you. After giving credit card details to "confirm an appointment", I have nothing left to assume other than this being an untrustworthy and fraudulent business.

Perfect!! Price was what was quoted, their employees were respectful and pleasant. They use good equipment and offered me a service plan to clean my new hvac system and to make sure it stays functioning (this is an extra cost but they come twice a year to device it) I will use them again most definitely!! I used a different company. I did get credit after 3 months for the overcharged hour. Disgusted I was charged a fee for a use of a screwdriver
Response from Appalachian Heating & Air
"This review was left for the wrong company, we do not service the Crab Orchard area, it is over 4 hours from us."

They were very good. This company came in, fixed my heating and air conditioning unit and left. Their pricing was reasonable and they seemed very competent. They knew exactly what to do and did it. They were pretty straightforward.

The entire situation was a big disapointment ...I still have the same problems with my HVAC system and I'm out $106 and have to find another company that I feel that I can trust.  I do not recommend Appaiachian Heating & Air.

They were here 3 different times. The problem we had was that every time they showed up, they were missing something. They could never finish the job until they brought whatever they were missing the next time. They did finally fix the problem and they solved the problem. The experience was mediocre. We are not sure we would call them again.

The service tech came to my home and inspected my A/C unit and said that I was low on R-22 coolant, that sells for about $70 per Lb.  I was 4 pounds low.  Once the coolant was added to my system it has worked perfectly and kept my home at a cool 70 degrees.

Had 10 year old builder's grade heat pump system.  Outdoor unit leaked all it's freon, so the choice was to repair a 10 year old builder's grade unit or replace with a new York system.
I called on a Monday at about noon, and their tech was at my house later that afternoon.  Appalachian was by far the least expensive of the quotes I obtained.  Bobby (technician and estimator) was very friendly and seemed to be very knowledgeable.  He recommended the mid-grade York system, rather than the top of the line unit.
My wife and I decided to go ahead with the quote and get the new system installed.  From the time we paid the deposit until the time they showed up to install the new system was 7 days.  That's impressive for being the hot summer season when everyone is very busy.  Their crew of three men showed up at about 7:15am and were finished by about 1:45pm.  The outdoor unit is very nice, high quality and it's so quiet you can barely hear it run.  The indoor unit has about the same sound level as our old system.  I asked for a specific programmable thermostat and they agreed to install that exact model.  Another plus.
There were a couple minor issues but to their credit, Bobby was back out just a couple days later to address each one of those issues and they are making it right.
I've had lots of work done to my house over the years by various contractors, and they've ranged from poor quality to top notch.  I would rate Appalachian HVAC near the top of the list in terms of quality.

This company listened to my complaint, asked some specific questions so they could forward the information to the technician and were very professional and patient. The technician when he arrived allowed me to restate the problem, asked some questions about the conditions in the house temperature-wise, asked about the age of the unit and a few other questions about any servicing done and then conducted a test of both external units. He then informed me that one of the internal devices in one of the units had failed, a fairly common occurrence after 6-8 years (the unit was 8 years old), and he replaced the unit with an upgraded unit. He also replaced the same item in the second AC unit, after checking it out as well. His approach and conduct while at my house was completely professional, patient and demonstrated a willingness to provide advice and honest comments on what was wrong with the AC units, and what could be done to resolve the problems.

It went exactly as the salesman said it would.  They started on time and finished on time, and on budget.  The worker who done the biggest part of the work was excellent.  He did cut a light wire when installing the return hole in the wall.  He repaired it as it should have been.  They were courteous and respectful.  Their price was $3,000 below the big home improvement company, who by the way were going to use the old duct work.  This is a good company to deal with, my overall experience with them was very very good.
