Fantastic work, I am extremely pleased. I told John what I wanted done and trusted him to find the best materials for me and fit the overall look and quality of my home, and I was not disappointed. In fact, he surpassed my expectations! I was most concerned about some trouble spots on the porch and how to work around the crafted molding without tearing it up, but he came up with a workaround that looks great. I was also concerned about the details of the bookshelves, but again he here surpassed my expectations and did some fine woodwork. I highly recommend and would use again.

He has great skills, but as a woman, I was treated inappropriately. I chose to abort the job. If I hired him again, I would have to have a man in the house while he was here.

He was a very nice guy but he never came back and finished. He never came back. He was supposed to bring a weather strip for our front door. He did a nice job. He was reasonable. But then he never completed it. He just didn't ever come back and do it. I was going to call him. But, my husband was real sick for a while and we just kind of let it go. But, we should get it because definitely it would have saved heat and we had a cold winter. He was a nice man. I liked the guy a lot. I know he planned to get back. I think he just probably forgot. The door was beautifully done. He did beautiful work. They had to put siding and they had to remove some windows. We felt like it was reasonable. We were pleased with what he did, just that he didn't finish the weather stripping. He is so busy. He worked us in. He was a nice man. He did very well for the money. We were very happy with his work. I would recommend him. There was one other thing inside. Maybe he didn't intend to finish it. We had windows next to the old door that we had. We had an odd sized door. He closed in the windows. He closed it but there is some trim at the bottom like between the floor and the wall. The baseboard, he never finished that either. I don't know if he wasn't going to but that's still not there either. It looks kind of rough. We haven't had the money to have it painted yet. But there is a piece of that on the bottom on the floor that's not done either. Maybe he wasn't going to do it. I think the price was fair. He came in when he said he would. We were very happy with him. We're just disappointed that he forgot to come back.

Mr. Taylor did a wonderful job replacing our back deck.  He is professional, easy to work with, and a very hard worker!  We are very pleased with the end result and have had many compliments on our deck from friends and family. 
The work consisted of removing the entire deck down to the supports which were still in great shape. The handrails and deck were all replaced as well as metal and gutters put underneath the deck for protection from weather when we are sitting on our patio below.  After the deck was complete, they replaced a sliding glass door onto our deck.  The door we purchased was smaller than the opening, so Mr. Taylor had frame in the door and insulate it.  We couldnt be more pleased with how he made it work.

Each day Mr. Taylor cleaned up the area and contained the building materials to one section of our yard.  We really liked this aspect of the work done because they took time to ensure things were neat before they left each day.

Exceptional workmanship, price, professionalism, and clean up. Constant communication, very detail oriented.
After a situation with another Angie's List contractor, John came in and fixed the job and more. Prices are excellent.
I cannot recommend him enough, and while I am not high maintenance, I am not easily overly satisfied.

Great start  deliver building supplies on time. Started when he said  then started late in day. Left early. He fired his help so that really slowed things down. End result was very poor work man ship . He left without ever finishing the job and never cleaned up. We had to and several supports to deck because it was so poorly built.  Worse part of the whole experience was he kept preaching to us about God and what a faithful person he was.  Not.

Great guy to work with.  He did several general repair/updating jobs to prepare a house for our WVU student granddaughter.  John's creative, patient and reliable.  Call him!

Mr. Taylor was great.  He had good ideas and made good suggestions, and was very patient considering I had not decided exactly what I wanted done with my patio area.  The work was completed on time and his rates are very reasonable.  He even placed my furniture and other items on the deck when it was done.  It looked so good, I have left things almost the same as he had placed them.  (NOTE: the dates and amount are estimates.  But my review contains my impressions of his work, which has not changed since the project was finished.)
Mr. Taylor is knowledgeable about a wide variety of home repair and construction issues.
I would not hesitate to use him again and, in fact, will likely be calling him for another project this spring.

John did an excellent job with my new windows.  He was very open to my ideas and took care of us in a timely fashion.   What i appreciated most was the price.  John is very reasonable and fair.  I had one window that had a tiny crack in it and he made sure it was taken care of at no extra cost.

Prompt with estimate and starting date.  Worked til job completion with slight break for some volunteer work.  Friendly.  Worked through several changes with no problem.  Made some good suggestions  Don't be afraid to point out anything you're not quite happy about.  John will make it right.

Overall great job. Very professional. Works very well with what you want and offers great ideas. Came in and did a complete basement for me including 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, office, media room, storage room, family room, etc... Even found an issue with my HVAC and fixed it for me at a great price. Overall A+ work. Would defiantly recommend and use again myself.

There was a 3 month lag in the time that signed the contract and the gave him the check for half of the porch before he came to start the job.  In his defense he did not cash the check until he started the job.   However he did not give any follow up calls as to when he would be starting unless I called him to ask.  After starting my job in the end of August John let me know about my main house roof needed replaced.  At this point he stopped to get the rest of the supplies to do the roof.  So I was happy with the new porch minus the length of time it took to start the job.  And the fact that they showed up between 9-10 am in the morning would take an hour long lunch break and then left the job all but one day at 3:30pm.   The first side of the house roof went well I was pleased then the front side of the house they had removed the old sheeting and replaced it but when they started to place the new shingles they did not put down the felt paper.  I asked John to us the paper he told me "that the shingles will last longer without the paper under them that the paper causes the shingles to hold heat and they go bad sooner. "  He also said that "Some shingles will void the warenty if placed on paper and that he only uses the paper only if is going to rain that day."  I did agree with that and after reading the instructions on the shingles that he had bought for my job and they stated to place over an under layment I called John and asked that he remove all the shingles without paper and replace them.  He did as I asked without a further fight but at this point I felt that I could not trust him any longer and I wanted someone there to watch everything that they were doing at my house.  After 3 weeks he finally finished the roof and porch the 4th week he did the final touches.  The re hung the gutters and replaced out gutter guard product but did not put any cocking in the seams of the gutter so the gutter now leaks.  My husband asked John if he was cocking the gutter he said yes and that it would not leak.  I never called him to come back and fix the leaking gutter.  Over all I do like my porch it looks very nice.  I was unhappy about having to argue with him about doing the roof the correct way and I was unhappy about the lenght of time it took him to start and finish the job.
