You really need to read the details to appreciate the good and the bad. The guy at HD who helped us, John in Kitchen Design, was great. Knew what he was doing, did what he said, made suggestions. The guys who actually installed the cabinets and counter top were also good. No problem there. My complaints are that HD hired out the counter top to "Continental Surfaces", who screwed it up, and then HD did not respond to my complaint about it. We ordered a black formica top with a no-drip edge. It was to be 3/4" thick to accommodate our existing kitchen restraints, like the previous one. And it was to have a matching, smaller counter top for an adjacent area. It was scheduled to arrrive in the middle of Dec. The day before, Continental Surfaces calls to say that "they" didn't send enough material to make the smaller counter; would we accept a black granite piece that "looks very much like it". Well, now we are in a holiday crunch time. So we said OK. It arrives, it's black, but that is the only quality that it has in common with the main counter. The main counter is not the 3/4" that we all agreed on---it is 1 1/2" !! So it will cover up our tile trim pieces and be 3/4" above the tile counter that it butts into! Also, it doesn't curl under to hide the top/counter joint AND it doesn't have the no-drip edge that we paid for! Will we accept it? I said no. The installer called The Man, who offered to let us destroy the tile counter that holds our cook top, and they will replace it with a matching black "at a reduced price"!!! Like I am going to let these people who screwed up what they sent send me another piece of something. Pat said, no thanks to the bonus top but that we would take the one that was here (because of the long wait and the impending holidays. I sent all these complaints to HD after the holidays were over---haven't heard back. I've given up on them. No, I wouldn't go back to them as long as they use this Continental Surfaces. And I think it is lame that their Management won't contact me about this. I'll send pics if i can. The quality of the counter top and the Thomasville cabinets is fine. No problem their. John really worked well with us to achieve what we wanted, as did the 2 guys who put in the counter top. So it is hard to put just one grade on the experience.
