During the foundation excavation the contractor, without notice, took a weeks vacation. The diagonals on the footing he poured were out of square by 14 inches, the basement drains turned out to be a notch in the top of the footing, which would have let more water into the basement, the footing drains was a cheap perforated black hose, which can easily be churched, was laid level with the footer. It should been placed below the footer and on an angle. Also it should have been covered with at least 3 feet of crushed rock to help with the drainage, instead it was backfilled with clay/rock (clay cloughs the holes in the black hose) removed from the foundation. I let him go before he could install the septic system. I if you decide to go with this contractor I suggest that you find out exactly how the work should be done and in your contract spell it out in detail and be there to insure it's done properly.
