It didn't go well at all unfortunately because I really happen to like Heflin Contracting. The gate leaked horribly and I had to keep calling to have them keep come back and fix it. They kept telling me it was normal for gates to get water in them. I found that to be the most lame response I have ever heard considering I have two other chain link gates and neither one of those gates hold nor leak water. Also they charged me an outlandish fee for this job. I never agreed to the amount they charged and made it clear to the supervisor that I didn't but they wouldn't budge on the price. They also charged me for finishing the job the never completed when they repaired my roof in 2011 when the water leaked through to the ceiling tiles. I had already paid for this as part of the roof repair but had to continuously call them to get them back out to finish the job. On top of all that I was charged for materials when I provided all the materials for the gate and the tiles that needed to replaced in ceiling. This isn't the first issue I have had with Heflin they replaced my gutters in 2010 and I am still waiting for them to correct the leaks in the corners which are causing my sidewalks to go bad and mold to form on my banisters and railings. The subcontracted the gutter job and claim they can't find who did the job and that is why it hasn't been corrected yet. However every time someone comes out to work on them the problem is only made worse. Having my gutters replaced was one of the most important jobs I needed to have done and they knew that at the time. However I guess small residential jobs aren't as important to them as larger jobs. They are a local family owned business that you should be able to trust and came highly recommended I wish I could say they did a great job.

A baseboard radiant heat pipe had burst in an upstairs room and went unnoticed over two days. The water had completely ruined the carpet in the room it was in and had poured through the floor to the ceiling of the family room below. The amount of water and pressure had burst the drywall ceiling below and even blew a mounted light fixture from a beam. The insurance company provided an estimate of work and materials and I visited hardware/repair stores to get an idea of the cost of materials. I gave the insurance paperwork and material lists to Heflin. The original estimate had listed replacing the carpet in the bedroom with new carpet, but I wanted a laminate floor which was understandably slightly more expensive. They stayed within the expected budget, got the repairs done quickly, cleaned up and followed up with a phone call to verify my satisfaction shortly after. The only real obstacles to consider were my cats and they handled those well.
The floor in the bedroom looks great and I will have Heflin do my hall so it looks as good. The family room looks better than it did before, is much brighter and roomier looking. I'm anxious to spend more time there!
