Had air conditioner maintenance check and everything found to be in working condition. 2 days prior had called that air was not cooling properly. Day of service, everything found to be working and it was indeed working fine. 2 days later, air stopped cooling again and it was 80degrees inside home.. called back and was told technician had just been there, everything ok and “it was hot outside, air can only keep inside 20 degrees cooler than outside. Was told to set thermostat to 74 and leave it. I did so called back next day, no change and air hose was frozen on unit. Was told again about it being hot outside and it was ok it was frozen, that it was working fine when technician was there.? Was given the same answer, leave at 74 degrees. no change again, I called back next day and I was told that I would be put on the “list “ for another visit, only after again getting the “hot outside “ , 20 degree argument, and everything checked out when the technician was there. it took a week for the next call to come, by then I had gone with another company. I believe being told that an air conditioner cannot cool house below 80 degrees-when hot outside, is ridiculous, This company refused to believe I had an issue because the technician had just been at the house. I cancelled the service call , attempted to ask for a refund for my fall “maintenance “ for the furnace but was told “we don’t refund”. they did offer to send someone out for the fall furnace check, which I refused. Very poor customer service. I was told for 3 days, that basically, I was making up a problem with my air conditioner and did not understand that it was hot outside and air doesn’t work well when hot outside. I may not be an H VAC expert, but have used air conditioning for 45 years, and think I know that the definition of an air conditioner is to cool the house when it is hot outside. Please don’t waste your time or money on the maintenance contract with this company, Once they determine in their head, everything “checked Out”, your air conditioner is not allowed to stop working....... ‘

I was very pleased with the service provided and cost of the service. I called another company before climatrol. The other company had the same diagnosis but quoted me nearly $900 to order a part. That sounded very high based on my internet research so I wanted a second opinion. Climatrol fixed it the same day they came and their bill was less than $300.

This is our second season with the furnace. Last winter wasn't all that cold, so everything went fine. During the bitter cold snap in January of 2014, the furnace wouldn't stay on. We dumped water out of the flue, which was not good, but we hoped that would help because the temperature in the house was rapidly dropping. Since the high that day was 7 degrees, we couldn't get an HVAC person in to help that day, but scheduled someone to come the next day.. Thankfully around dinnertime, it started working again.
Not wanting to leave anything to chance, we kept the appointment we had made so the furnace could get a good inspection.
The intake and the flue pipes were all wrong. Apparently, because of the condensation that formed in the pipes - that had at least four extra angled joints - we had a piece of ice that kept shutting the unit down. This new company had to correct the installation.
Apparently, the installers from Climatrol copied the configuration from the 25 year old furnace that was replaced, but was inappropriate for a new, high efficiency furnace. I'm positive the furnace came with a manual.

One of several companies that came and gave me an estimate. Very prompt. Received a written estimate. Price was very reasonable. Answered all my questions. Checked old furnace to see if the manufacturer had issued a partial refund due to boiler cracking. Cleaned up after themselves. Only negative was they forgot to get a Morgantown city permit. They did give me a better thermostat than originally stated.

They were really great. We had no problems after they left.

I got several quotes. Rod submitted a very detailed professional quote. I knew exactly what I was getting. The other quotes either were very vague about what was involved or were little more than a number written on a piece of paper. I felt that he honestly listened to what I wanted. He did not try to sell me an A/C unit which two of the others tried to do. He provided me with literature and explanations of the differences. The crew showed up on time and finished the job within the day. They cleaned up afterward. The removed the old furnace and checked it to see if it qualified as part of a recall. I was asked if I wanted the box that the furnace was shipped in or if I wanted it removed. The only negative thing I can say is he forgot to instruct me to pick up the city permit.
