"[Member Name Removed], I am sorry you had a bed experience with us. Below is a follow-up to your concerns. Point #1 is the only concern we did not discuss directly with one another. #1. large divots: Obviously we weren't scheduled to come back until fall, as the scope of work outlined. I should have fixed these right away. I am very sorry that did not happen. In the future please don't hesitate to let me know about issues like this. #2. The tree planting looked good except the trees were quite small. I didn't specify the size of tree I wanted but I understand a smaller tree costs less: We are on the same page here. We could have installed more mature trees but it would have cost significantly more for those. #3. The leveling part didn't look the way I thought it should. It was soft and uneven. I was told they would come back in a few weeks after it settled to make it look better: There were two phases to this part of the job: 1: grinding the stumps; 2: grading and seeding. We grinded the stumps. #4. Some time after this I called [Member Name Removed] and asked when they would be back and he indicated the tree shouldn't be trimmed until October and they needed to wait until the fall to seed the grass anyway: Last summer there was a stretch of weather that was extremely hot. In terms of rainfall we either had pounding rains (washes out compost and seed) or no rain at all for long stretches (seed will not germinated). I apologize for not explaining this better at the time. #5. I called [Member Name Removed] back and he apparently decided I was being unreasonable and he would refund the tree trimming deposit and end our business. I asked him to finish the leveling(compacting and seeding) now or within the next couple of weeks but, he indicated that he didn't want to deal with me: Like I said above in #4, installing compost and seed at that time would have left you with zero grass. I understand you already had zero grass since we had ground out stumps. But if you had paid me and had zero grass that would have been a much worse situation. #6. Thankfully I didn't pay for the entire job up front. I was paying proportionally, but I wanted all of the work done: We always require a 25% deposit which secures a clients calendar spot. We never bill for work we do not complete 100%. The job was broken up individually in the proposal/scope of work and was invoiced accordingly. I refunded the tree pruning deposit because our relationship became very tense when I needed to reschedule the seeding portion due to weather. I again am very sorry you did not have a better experience with us."
