Fencing Service
The service experience for this project was horrible, and resulted in a job that should have taken two days taking one month to complete.
First, there was a complete lack of communication as to the project's status throughout its duration. Lowe's generally only would contact me to say that something that had been ordered had arrived (but could never provide a status of when someone would install it) or to ask if we were happy with our completed project when it hadn't been completed. As well, I called a few times to ask when the installer would be scheduling to perform the installation, and was told that they would contact me and if they did not, to call back. The installer would never call, so I would call Lowe's back and would get the same answer, until finally Lowe's had set a date with the installer. But then, they would not call me to tell me they set a date--I would still have to call to find out after not hearing anything for days.
Second, Lowe's ordered the wrong fence gate post two times. Even after sending someone out to look at it in person after the first time they got it wrong, they still got it wrong again. And, neither time did they inform us that this had occurred. Basically, I found out each time because I would call Lowe's to check why the installation hadn't occurred on a day on which it was scheduled. Then, Lowe's would tell me they had to order a new post because they ordered the wrong one. And, each time, it took over a week for them to get a single post shipped to them. When I asked about getting the shipment expedited, I was given a response of indifference. Then, each time after the reordered post arrived, they would call to tell me that the post had arrived, but could never give me details as to when it would be installed (same line as above, "the installer will contact you, if you don't hear from them in a few days, call us back...").
Third, throughout the month that it took to get the project completed, Lowe's called multiple times to ask if we were happy with our completed project. Each time, I had to remind them that the project was not complete, and had to ask for a status update for the project, which was usually no update. Finally, the last time they called while waiting for the correct gate post to arrive after Lowe's had ordered wrong one the second time, they agreed to not keep calling me to ask about the completed project until after it was actually complete.
Although we are happy with the actual fence itself so far, any money we might have saved using Lowe's as opposed to another contractor was outweighed by the frustration of dealing with their service. I would advise against using this Lowe's location's installation services. Even when raising the issues with them as to the service experience, both during and following the project, their response was indifference.

Appliance Sale
