The company responded promptly to my initial inquiry and did some minor cleanup (removing a few fallen branches) while on the roof. Unfortunately, the initial nail pop repair wasn’t done very well and the shingle still curved up. I called Billy, the owner, and he arrived a day or two later. I explained that our house was under a contract of sale and a home inspection was forthcoming. They worked on the repair and cut out excess roofing sealant which allowed the shingle to lay properly. During the home inspection, the inspector quickly spotted the repair and flagged it in his report as “crude”. The accompanying picture revealed that roofing sealant was smeared across two or three shingles — an ugly blemish on a roof of architectural shingles that was only six years old. At this point, I’m not sure I would allow Dean’s Construction a third chance to get it right, so I’ll be looking for someone else and I won’t use Angie’s List given this experience.
