Darnold & Lyons Heating & Cooling

They were only interested in selling me a new unit, not repairing my old one, even temporarily. I have an "elderly" heat pump that needs a compressor. I intend to replace this heatpump within two years but CANNOT do it now so I asked them to repair the unit. They refused because "Trane no longer makes the compressor for that unit and we won't install a generic one." Not, "we can't install" but we won't install. When I told them that I absolutely could not afford to replace the unit at this time, they still refused to work on it with "liability" as the excuse. So I will find someone who will install an aftermarket compressor and then pay THEM the $18,000 when I replace the unit in two years. it's a fairly large unit so replacing it will be a lucrative job for someone. I believe they saw a woman who would just write them a check and not question it.

Very prompt. The crew, led by Rick, was efficient and courteous. Rick was very knowledgable and demonstrated both skill and ingenuity in his approach to a couple of unforeseen obstacles.
I'm extremely pleased with the Installation and confident that I made a good choice with Darnold & Lyons.
I chose Carrier equipment based on research and reputation.

Salesperson was very easy to deal with and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. On day one they took out all of the old equipment and put it outside. They installed everything needed to get the air conditioner running since it was a hot day. On day two they installed the remainder of the heating unit and worked on the duct work. When they were finished they cleaned up very good and loaded all of the old unit to be hauled away.

They were very polite and nice, they did their job, and then they left.  They gave us a written estimate and they cleaned everything up when they did the work.  Everyone else was in the same range, but I thought it was pretty expensive.

The first time they came out they were on time and very nice. The Tech had left the wire hanging down where the lawn mower could hit it. I called and the receptionist basically said good luck. I asked to speak to someone in charge. The owner got on the phone. He was very nice and apologized and offered to fix the problem. The same tech came over and was very rude. He completed the work and left without checking if it worked. The thermostat didn't work after he worked on it the second time. I called to complain and got the run around.

When the coil was installed, it actually melted another ring, but they are not willing to claim responsibility. I will not use them in the future.

The service I received was lousy. The reason I feel this way is because I didn't trust that they did honest work or that their original analysis of my old system was correct.
