Repairman came to house within a few days of the service call and quickly assessed needed work. Work was quickly completed although I do not remember if it was at the same date. After work was completed the repairman checked that the door operated properly. Cleaned up all extra items he brought with him and went over details with interested occupants. Repairman was polite and reserved.

He called back within a half hour of my springs breaking. He set up an appointment for the following day at 9 AM. He showed up on time and completed the work by the time he said he would. He also pointed out a couple other problem areas for me to watch in the future and made sure everything was oiled. The door performed better and was quieter, and he did it for less than the garage door specialists. I wish I would have known about him when my current opener was installed 2 years ago by some random Lowes contractor; they did a bad job compared to this man who takes pride in his work. Try him first before calling others.

The cable snapped on one of my garage doors a couple of years ago causing the spring to bend one of the supports. When our other door started not closing I decided to get them both fixed. After looking at reviews on Angie's list, I decided to call Bill (on a Friday). One reviewer stated that he'd called her back within the hour. He didn't call me back till that evening, but he apologized for missing my call. The address listed on Angie's is incorrect. He works out of Hurricane so he didn't want to come out until he had other jobs in the Charleston area-either Monday or Tuesday (although he did offer to come out on Saturday but that wasn't good for me). I thought that was fair. Monday he didn't call and Tuesday morning my working door suddenly stopped. I called and he responded within 5-10 minutes and said he'd be here after he finished his current job-not more than an hour. He arrived in about 45 minutes.
He was friendly and professional. He looked over everything and took the time to show me the problem and explained my options without trying to convince me that I needed a whole new drive train or something ridiculous. He also showed me how to maintain the systems, where to lube and how often. He was here for about 2 1/2 hours I think. It seemed like he kept finding more problems with worn out pulleys and threadbare cables. We'd get to talking too, which probably added to the amount of time he spent here. He originally quoted me about $200 so I was happy to write him a check for $148. Our doors are almost 20 years old so when they break down again I'll be sure to call Bill again.

My garage door would not open. The door would go up several inches then stop and close. After manually opening the garage door, I went to work and logged on to Angie's List. I found Bill Nelson's name and called him from work. after a short conversation about the problem with my garage door, Mr. Nelson stated what he believed was wrong with my door, a broken spring. We arranged for him to come to my house the next day (a Saturday), when I would be home, to fix the door. Mr. Nelson showed up on time and confirmed the problem with the door. He removed the old spring system and installed a new one within an hour. Mr. Nelson removed all the broken parts and disposed of them for me. The garage door works perfectly, and I am very satisfied with the work, and it's cost.

He showed up at the time he promised to be there, installed the new door opener in a neat and professional manner. He cleaned up after completing the job. He was pleasant and personable.
