ARE YOU READY FLOOR SERVICES

Beware!!! They don’t know how to install new flooring, they only refinish floors. They are not reliable, showed up around noon when they said they would be there by 8:30am. They only worked half days. Owner asked for half of payment up front. They damaged a good portion of our new floor that had to be ripped up and redone. They put huge staples through the top of our new floor boards!!! When we had no choice but to fire him because he was ruining our floor, he said he would give us part of our payment back (since the work wasn’t done). He never did and won’t return our calls/texts. We are out thousands. Save yourself some heartache and don’t hire them!!

Initial work was good, but many attempts to get them to come finish trim and floor vents proofed useless. Many promises to come resulted in numerous no shows. Finally paid someone else to finish trim. Would never use again or recommend.

Took forever. Never showed up when they said they would. Had to have work redone.

They did not show up on time, they started the job a week later then scheduled. I had to call them to find out when they were coming as they did not tell me they were not going to start the job on time. The owner was very difficult to get a hold of, he would not answer his phone or return my calls. The men who did the actual work were very respectful and I have no complaints about them. However, I would not recommend them to others.

I choose to not go into detail regarding our experience with Are You Ready Floor Service. I will never use this company again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. I have made dozens of phone calls and left messages. The owner refuses to return my calls. In good faith, we paid in full. After making promises to come back time after time, the job still is incomplete. It has been six months since we have heard from them, and I continue to leave messages.

The guys who came to give the estimate were very professional and knowledgeable so, we enthusiastically selected their estimate. The work crew came and after a little grumbling moved the furniture (as stipulated in the estimate/contract) to the garage. Once they started work on the floor we stayed out so that we didn't mar the new surface. During the work the crew would take breaks on our patio. No problem there except that one of the guys would leave a puddle of spittle while the others strew cigarette butts around. When they finished (in good time) it was a couple of days before we looked around because we wanted the floor to cure well before walking on it. The first thing I noticed was clumps of finish in the dining room. I pointed these out to the estimate guy when he came to collect final payment and he fixed them no problem. Over the course of the next few weeks as I moved furniture back into the house I began to notice how shoddy the work is. Apparently they were training a new guy to sand because the floor is deeply sanded around the edges in many places so that a slope is formed at the baseboard. There are clumps of finish in other places. Nails were left sticking from the baseboards. At the door of a bedroom that didn't get refinished a piece of carpet wasn't removed and the floor beneath it was not finished! In some places the floor is very rough as though it wasn't sanded. Probably worst of all there is dust trapped in the finish throughout the house. Apparently they only vacuumed between the finish layers instead of wiping it down with a dust cloth. Even I know that's not how it should be done.
