He didn't connect the pipes to drains so the shower drains in the crawl space. The roofing was done incorrectly so the rain comes in, the electricity was done incorrectly in the kitchen. I now have to pay to have all of this work done again. I would not recommend him. He ran off with my money and didn't repair any of this. He would make appointments and never show up.

We found AMR in the phone book for roof repair. They came out the same day for an estimate, got us great deal (thanks to a maunfacturers rebate) on 35 year shingles. Our job was postponed due to weather but they were prompt and professional and did a great job cleaning up the yard. We are using them again this summer to put in a patio by our new pool as well as 3 bathroom remodels in our home. I look forward to using them again for our repair and remodel jobs.

Roofing, Deck and Porch Service

In August of 2008, I contacted Craig Fox of AMR to come to my home to give us an estimate on building an 8 X 12, roofed back porch for our home.  He submitted an estimate by email, and that estimate was reasonable.  So then I started the long arduous process of trying to make contact with him, hoping to get a contract signed, and to get the project started.  But . . . he never NEVER answered his phone!  He did not respond to emails.  Just seemingly disppeared off the face of the earth!

We at that time started asking around, getting estimates from other contractors (which was uphill work, let me tell you!), but never did find anyone satisfactory.  Seemed like we never would that porch built.

But  the next May of 2009, nearly a year later,  I finally re-established contact with Mr. Fox, by email.  He said that they had been "without a service provider for a while," but yes, my estimate was still good.  He was still interested in the job.  He said he would call the next week and set up a time for the work to begin, that he would see about the necessary buildling permits, etc.  He didn't call back, though.

After a couple of weeks, I called HIM.  Repeatedly.  Each time, it sounded like he was riding around in his truck, but he seemed to remember who I was and said yes, yes, that he's been getting on that.  That they were waiting on some ordered lumber to come in.  That they had had a death in the family.  That they were waiting for the buildilng permit.  One excuse after another.  And again, every call was at MY instigation.  He never once called me.

As summer turned to fall, we became less and less trusting that this porch was going to happen at all.  I was so tired of chasing this man down!  NO contract had been signed, NO material had been purchased, NO work had been started.  No one had even come out from the City, no measuring, no digging, nothing.

Sometime in September of 2009 I called him, and was told that he had applied for a City Buildling permit, but that they were backed up and it might be 6 weeks.  My next call revealed that he now had the City permit, but was waiting on the County permit, and he would let me know when that was granted.

By October 2009, I  handed the reins of this to my husband, who with one or two quick calls to City Hall found out that
1) there is NO back up in work permits, that
 2) no one with the name of Craig Fox OR the name AMR had applied for a building permit, and that
3) there is no such thing as a county permit.

He had been leading us up the garden path all the while, I guess.  (note this whole proccess had taken a year and two months - shame on us for being so gullible!)  He had not started the job, had no plans of starting the job, and did not even have the backbone to say "Sorry, ma'am, I'm not interested," or "Sorry, sir, we don't have the time for this job," or "this is beyond my ability."  To this day, I do not know why he didn't want to build the porch, but you know, a little honesty right at the beginning would have been such a kindness!  We could have found someone else and moved on.  We wouldn't have wasted hours and days, calling him, chasing him, planning for this imaginary porch, cleaning off the area, my husband taking time off work to be home with the alleged workmen were goinug to be there, etc.

I cannot say strongly enough, if you are considering Craig Fox or AMR to do a job, RUN THE OTHER WAY!  This man is completely unreliable and totally bad news!
