Description of Work: The company discontinued their service in our area a couple of years ago, so I had to find a different provider. If they offered their service again, I might just use them again. Solarus did offer good service.

thtI would have rated them higher except that we have had recurring problems with internet and TV dropping. This has happened at least 10 times. They are always punctual and professional about our problems, but still it is inconvenient to lose internet and TV. They are supposed to have a new and improved system coming to our area soon (Media Shower). Hopefully that will improve the situation.

Description of Work: My Internet service through Solarus was down for over 2 weeks. They told me Frontier would have to check my line, which they never did. I continuously called Solarus for the first week and they said the problem was with the line and Frontier had to check the line when they had time. They did not seem to care and were almost irritated by my problem with there service. After a week I switched to Charter and told them about my problem with Solarus. They hooked up an old modem to the line and got a signal, so the problem wasn't even the line but the modem from Solarus. This is something that could have been fixed in a day or so. I waited another week before canceling with Solarus and during that week I never heard from Solarus or Frontier. After 2 weeks when I called Solarus to cancel they said they could see a red tag posted on my account but were waiting for Frontier to check my line. I must note that I bet I could have waited a month and I probably would not have heard from them. Now they want to charge me around $400.00 for canceling my service and the price of the modem. I can return the modem and get credit for $137.00 but the remaining I have to pay for breaking the contract. Solarus your the one who breached the contract by not providing reasonable service. I think being without service for 2 weeks, and it probably would have been longer, is downright unprofessional. When I cancelled they were extremely rude, the manager would not return my phone calls regarding the cancelation fee, and now I received a demand letter from an attorney to pay the fee's. I will not pay a dime for that service! I also have a degree and years of work experience in the legal field, and know that a demand letter carries no legal weight no matter who drafts it, but I am hoping Solarus takes me to court over this. I am more than capable of representing myself. If you think I'm being harsh.....check other reviews on their service...you will see many negatives. I use the internet for work and play and I know the internet provider is not responsible for any home business use, but the sheer lack of support and professionalism is unbelievable. If anything I think I was being kind with this review.

We switched to Solarus internet to bundle it with Dish Network TV. This was to replace cable since cable did not have HD channels and wouldn't do internet alone at the time. We had Solarus come and install both. The internet was always spotty and when we'd call to have it checked they would send someone out who would tell us it's the line and those are maintained by Frontier. The best they can do is put a ticket in asking Frontier to repair it. The last time they came out to service the Dish portion of our account it took 2 trips the second guy was swearing like a sailor including about me to someone on the phone while I was around the corner. Then to make things worse, they drilled through the side of our house, cracking the siding around the giant whole that they filled with clear caulk since it was much larger than the cable that needed to run through it. On August 2, 2012 I cancelled my internet (cable will do internet only) and am working directly through Dish Network and after I cancelled, they still charged my card and can't reverse the charges. They'll have to send a check. I'm a pretty understanding person, after all I stayed with them for 3 years but enough is enough.

Description of Work: My service was interupted and I called to find the problem. I was transfered to maint. department and the problem was imediatly fixed. It ended up my equipment was interupted somehow and they assisted me in getting back up and running.

I've had very few problems, and they are fairly reliable. We are in a rural area. Given that, I think they do pretty well. I plan to stay with Solarus.
