My screened-in porch, which had been stained a few years ago, was looking shabby, so I called Jay to see if it could be repainted using acrylic deck paint. Jay explained in great detail what would be needed to achieve the best results, including power washing the old stain off, caulking various areas, and painting two coats. On the first day, Jay spent many hours diligently power washing the interior and exterior of the porch. He returned the next day with some of his crew who sanded the surfaces and painted the first coat. On the final day, the crew caulked and applied the second coat. No more shabby-looking porch! I am really pleased with how it looks. Jay and his crew are friendly, punctual, and professional. They responded quickly to all my communications and questions, which I really appreciated.

I could not have been more pleased with the entire process form quote to completion. Everything was done exactly as agreed. Jay was very considerate of my time and respected my home. He was always prompt and he communicated with me on a regular basis. The quality of work is outstanding. I struggled with deciding on colors which is something I'm not very good at. Jay was extremely patient and helpful and coached me through the process based on his experiences painting other homes. Jay's quote was better than the average and his level of service was well above the average. I highly recommend Jay's Quality Painting and will definitely utilize his services again.

My mistake? Reading all of the previous reviews posted regarding Jay and his team. The problem? I find that I have no new insights or compliments to add to those that have already been provided. It's obvious that the experience I had with Jay is not unique, the professionalism and the quality of Jays work has been experienced by all that have done business with him. My experience... In early February Jay arrived, on the day and time promised, to provide an estimate on re-staining 2 decks. We walked the decks together with Jay explaining how he would complete the job. He approached the job as if we were discussing his decks...power wash, scrap, sand, prime, 2 coats of stain. His estimate was more than competitive. Being scheduled for Spring meant the possibility of weather delays. Jay communicated with me on a regular basis as he worked around the Spring rains. When the work began we realized that one of the decks required far more repair than anticipated. Before proceeding Jay showed me the problems, discussed solutions and presented a more than reasonable estimate to address the problems. At the end of the day the work Jay did went far beyond what we had agreed to. For example, he replaced and stained more deck rails then we had discussed, re-painted white trim boards that a previous painter had hit with red stain all at no extra expense to me. The man definitely takes pride in his work and the same can be said for his entire team. The finished product went beyond my expectations! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

In a word . . . amazing! We had him come out to paint the exterior of our house and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the get go, Jay was very accommodating to our needs and what we were looking for. His fee was very competitive, in fact it was the most affordable of all the estimates we received; and he stuck to that estimate . . . no "hidden costs." Having the project scheduled in the spring, we knew we'd have to deal with wet weather; but Jay kept up near the top of the list and got parts of the project done as he was able to. He kept us in the loop and let us know how the work was progressing, and he and his crew got it done in a quick amount of time. The house looks great . . . he was wonderful to work with . . . 100% satisfied! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Jay and his crew did an outstanding job on the exterior of our cedar home. They communicated with us throughout the job always letting us know what they would be doing each day. They power washed, scraped, caulked, repaired where needed and even sanded our desk going above and beyond our expectations. The job was completed quickly and efficiently and the job site was in perfect condition at the end of each day. We recommend Jay without reservation. Our house has never looked so good!

There were a couple of spots that were missed, but Jay came back the next day to do the touch ups.

Good except a bit sloppy and cleaned up poorly at the end of the job.

Jay is eager to please. Unfortunately his employees not-so-much. Numerous cigarette butts in the yard. Their wash station was in the middle of the backyard and killed a small area of grass and the grass was painted blue for a bit. Paint on our hose sprayer handle that they used. The closer we inspected the home the more dissatisfied we became with the work. Areas that clearly needed to be scraped weren't. Old paint under the new coats of paint come off easily with a flick of the finger. Old caulk hanging off around windows but painted over regardless. We had to repair a rotten window sill that they were supposed to repair. First they tried to caulk the hole left behind from the rot. Then tried wood filler after we pointed it out. When that failed it was clear the sill needed more than just cheap wood filler. Their stuff never completely cured so their glob of filler literally fell out during a storm. The home has the original siding. The wood siding expands and contracts. Throughout the summer we've had to touch up A LOT of areas where the old white paint was showing through at each seam. We should have expected the low quality of work with the low price we paid but if he was worried about losing money he should have said "hey, this is a bigger job than I imagined so we are going to scrape more and do a 3rd coat and here's what it would have cost." We would have paid it. Instead, on the day we met to go over the punch list it was excuse after excuse until finally we said, "look, we aren't trying to get anything other than to hopefully make you grow as a painter." He appreciated that and it went much better. I was impressed that he finished the punch list on a Sunday, although, it's a Sunday and it took away from our family time on the weekend. We looked at his other work before we hired him and it looked great. I think they weren't experienced for this size of a project and on a historic home. The other estimates we received were both $3,000 higher and we wished we would have gone with them based on their cost to scrape the entire home down to bare wood. Jay and crew pressure washed and scraped any "loose" paint. We learn from our mistakes and next time I'll pay the higher cost rather than going with the low bid.

We had lots of rain the week they came out, but they were good at calling and letting me know when they would be out. I am a widow and a senior citizen, so I let Jay know I needed to be able to depend on the job being done correctly, as I couldn't afford to have the expense come up again in a year or two. He understood and he and his men did an excellent job of replacing bad boards with new, sanding, power washing and giving the decks two coats of stain. I am so very pleased at how good my decks look now. I worry no more about possibly falling through a deck, thanks to Jay's Quality Painting, Inc.

Jay and his crew did a great job painting the exterior of our house. Jay was really good at communicating daily and was flexible about adjusting to unexpected things that came up during the course of the work. Dealing directly with the owner and having him onsite was great because I knew it was going to be done right. The crew cleaned up after each day and at the end of the project. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jay.

Everything went exceptionally well. Appreciated that Jay was experienced with the weather issues we had and knew what equipment/time would complete the job in the end, i.e brushing versus spraying, drying times, etc. He spent extra time replacing some needed deck boards & stairs, nailing pop-ups, even filling woodpecker damage on the house. Everything looks A+.and we couldn't be happier. Loved that he & his crew started work early and were devoted to the job at hand. Reliable, dependable with quality results.

My house and garage desperately needed a revival. I received several quotes and Jay was right in the ball park. I selected Jay's Quality Painting, Inc. based on Jay's professionalism and it "just felt right". I was not disappointed! My house looks almost new (it's an older home with cedar siding) and I am very pleased. Jay and his crew went beyond what I expected and even did a few extras to enhance the look. I highly recommend Jay and will definitely use him again.

Exceptionally well--- I chose this provider because of his experience with the type of stain I chose which if done inaccurately, the stain will peel up-- which, in fact,  is what it was doing after I had stained it myself the year prior. Jay understood the issue of the peeling and needed to tarp the deck so that the hot sun wasn't on it so that it didn't dry it too fast. The look of this particular stain is unique and brings out the grains of the wood while providing a rich tone of the chosen color.



Jay of Jay's Quality painting was very professional, provided great communication via emails and texts and kept me apprised of the changing start date due to weather. As a business owner, also in a service industry, communication is key and Jay get's 10 stars for  returning calls /emails and great communication.

In addition, the work was performed at a vacation residence in which we had no worries to have the door left unlocked for Jay to have access while no one was home. We knew Jay the owner would be at the house and had no problem leaving the house open for his access.

Overall, the deck looks beautiful and Jay took great care to make certain all went well.

We couldn't be more happy with the outcome. The professionalism of Jay and his crew was superb. Jay presented us with lots of options and gave us recommendations and opinions that we really valued. The workmanship was excellent and there is nothing that we can think of that we're not 100% satisfied with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jay's company to anyone who asked. We are very satisfied and we will definitely plan to use Jay's Quality Painting in the future.

It went very well.  Jay is great at communication, they start on time, the clean-up was perfect with great attention to detail.  He will be my go-to guy when in the North suburbs!

I called Jay and told him I had issues with my house. The painter I hired did not apply the exterior paint correctly. He would always give excuses and not show up for day's. I think he over booked himself. There was no prep work done, no calking, overspray on screens and my new roof. He went up on my roof to try to paint my chimney when it was 90 degrees with flip flops on and never finished, no safety harness or fall protection. There were numerous overlaps, and areas where the paint was flashing on all four sides of my house. Jay and his employees came in and had to repaint the house. They were skilled professionals, safe, and efficient. I would highly recommend this company to my friends and relatives. I wish I would of known about this company in the first place and saved all the headaches. Jay was a great guy to work with.

Jay and his guys were enthusiastic from the start. He communicated clearly and showed up exactly when he said he would. The work (and it is a big house) was completed quickly and professionally. There was an area on one wall we did not like the look of. Jay came right back and made it right without delay or complaint.
