HEMBEL IMPROVEMENTS

The mother-in-law was moving in so we decided to build a mother-in-law suite to our house. Hembel did the job and all-in-all it turned out quite nice. This was a big job. He had to remove the existing roof, install new floor and roof trusses, build walls and a new roof, extend the chimney through the new second floor, install windows, etc. It was almost as though he was building a new house, only smaller. The suite consisted of a single bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and utility room. It took up about 800 sq feet with a separate entrance to the outside as well as a new stairwell inside the house leading upstairs. Were there issues? absolutely and they were worked out but in the end, I think Hembel did a great job. When the suite was completed, it looked great. The finish work was nice and everything looked good. The only issue I remember was that the plywood used for the flooring was not glued down and it squeaked incessantly below the carpeting when my mother-in-law walked on it. Given that this was the only negative I can think of, that's not too bad. All our expectations were met. I would hire Mr. Hembel again.
