Plaster Repair
We were pleased to hire Arthur Bosley to repair the top of the wall on our building in Barton (north part of West Bend). We noted that Bosley Plastering had repaired the church across the street from our building. Signed the contract, paid most of the money in September, 2023. Arthur Bosley assured us it would be done inside of a week. Well, 10 months later, its done! We're relieved to have the project done and all of the scaffolding and trailers off the property.

Bosley's bid was well below the first one we got, and the work and whole experience was excellent. The owner was knowledgeable and easy to work with, and the crew was great. Not only did they do excellent work inside and out, but they were meticulous about keeping everything inside completely clean and dust free. They even painted an extra section in the chimney that was not part of the repair to make it look better. Would use them again and wholeheartedly recommend them.

Bosley's work was done in April 2014 for the previous owner of the house just before he sold it to me. The previous owner had listed the home for sale that spring. Before we placed our bid on the house, the owner told us that he had hired a contractor (Carl Bosley) to patch any cracks on the exterior walls and then apply a fresh layer of stucco over the entire house. We were happy to hear this news and submitted our bid for the home.
Unfortunately, the stucco job was done terribly. The surface is uneven and discolored around the entire house. We
almost pulled out of negotiations to buy the house, but the location was perfect and we loved the interior of the home, so we decided to go ahead and buy it with the intent of having the stucco repaired at a later date. I met with Bosley immediately after we closed on the home in summer of 2014 to discuss the work he had done and how it could be improved. He claimed that the shoddy work wasn't his fault and admitted that the previous owner didn?t want to pay to have the job done correctly. He said that the owner just wanted a cheap and quick fix before he sold it without properly removing parts of the old stucco, or taping (protecting) the wood trim, or removing the gutters from the walls before applying a new layer of stucco. I told Bosley that I?d follow up with him the following season to see what kind of repairs could be made. I met with several other stucco contractors who all agreed that the job wasn?t done correctly. I think Bosley was probably the only contractor around who would have accepted a job where the owner was not willing to pay to have it done right. His defense is that the previous owner said he loved the way it turned out. Well of course that?s what the guy is going to say when he?s trying to sell his house on the market! He?s not going to admit that it doesn?t look right when it?s already listed on MLS and he's negotiating an offer.
Fast forward to June 2015. Some new cracks have already developed in the stucco that was applied by Bosley last year. I knew Bosley wasn?t the best choice to make the repairs, but he boasts a 2 year guarantee on all his work, so I figured he would at least fix the new cracks that had developed. I had to contact him a few times before he responded. He said he was very busy but could squeeze in an 11am visit to my house . I had to be at work, so my wife waited for him. She waited near the window for him to show up since our newborn baby was sleeping, and she wanted to meet him at the door before he rang the doorbell. He never showed. I contacted him a couple of hours later asking what happened. He claimed he was there but nobody was home. (I find it strange that he never bothered to try calling me on the phone while he was supposedly standing there outside my house to say that he didn?t see anyone there.) I asked to re-schedule immediately. He told me that he was too busy to re-schedule and wouldn?t be able to make any repairs on my house this summer. He said his work on the house was for the previous owner, so therefore he had no obligations to me, and that it wasn?t his fault that the previous owner didn?t pay to have the job done correctly ? he only did what he was paid to do. I asked Bosley why he agreed to put his name on a job that he knew wasn?t being done properly. He got extremely angry and called me ?a whiny b****?, and said he was never going to come out to look at the home and to never call him again, and then hung up on me.
It?s a wonder this guy has a business at all.
