They were excellent! The moving a crew was very accommodating and professional. Also, the office was responsive, and answered all of my questions.

They were terrible. They just weren?t very service oriented and I felt that they were dishonest. They were very late in delivering and there was poor communication. They didn?t reassemble everything properly and they did not tag things clearly so it was difficult to do inventory when they arrived. I was pretty put out by the delay and it was made clear to me that because I had a small load I was a low priority. Someone told me that because I had a small load they couldn?t guarantee an on-time delivery. I contacted someone at the parent company and he was quite rude and defensive. I think he thought I was going to bring a lawsuit or something but I was just trying to get compensation because it was a huge inconvenience. He told me that I was trying to bribe him and do something illegal so I just gave up. I was just trying to communicate that it was very poor service and I didn?t believe his story that it is illegal to adjust the price. The salesperson was very nice and persuasive and left me feeling very confident that everything would work out okay. As soon as you sign the contract, they hand you off to someone else and the salesperson no longer cares.
Response from Arpin Van Lines - C. Coakley Relocation Systems
"We are very sorry to learn of your disappointment with your relocation to the Atlanta area. Although we have one of the highest on-time delivery rankings in the industry, ocassionally elements out of our control might delay a shipment from delivering on time. The smaller the size shipment that someone has, the more difficult it is to pinpoint an exact delivery date. I suspect this might be the case. Regardless of the size of the shipment, all customers usually are expecting a short delivery timeframe. Depending upon the amount of goods that someone is moving, we might be able to fill the van with the belongings of one household. When this is the case, we are easily able to project a particular day for delivery. At times, when there are multiple shipments on one van, any delay with the deliver of one shipment might effect the others. As much as we plan ahead to prevent this from happening, ocassionally this might occur. Unfortunately, I do not know the person that was contacted at the 'parent company' as it sounds uncharacteristic of the customer service staff at Arpin Van Lines. I can assure you that our agency will do everything in its power to make sure that this situation does not happen to you or anyone else in the future."

The moving went very well. Their packing was very good, and the people who helped us unpack remarked that Arpin had even used extra packaging material to secure the items.

The crew of three arrived early in the morning and started packing our things. It took much longer than expected. The crew leader seemed surprised that our estimate was done over the phone and not in person and he hinted that it might be more expensive than originally quoted. The move took approximately 11 hours to complete. Despite using pads, numerous items of furniture were damaged and walls were scratched. Even though we were told our final bill would not exceed 10% of the original estimate, we paid almost double what were were originally quoted. Based on the amount of damage to our belongings and huge difference between the quote and the actual bill, we would not recommend them.

The young man who was in charge of my move announced when he arrived that the warehouse had not provided him with enough pads. When my belongings were unpacked there was almost no piece of furniture undamaged. In the letter from my sales person it was stated that, "all wood furniture would be pad wrapped." It was not. I contacted the sales representative to state that I was going to have my furniture repaired. The bill came to $396.00 (I did not even have all repairs made). The sales representative wanted to enforce a $250.00 deductible. I argued and filed reports with both the Better Business Bureau and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer protection and the company is to date unmoved. The company sent me a check for $196.00. They did not work with me, or with the agencies contacted. I returned their check at the direction of the BBB because my cashing same reflected agreement with the dollar amount. Horrible experience, 1/2 day lost wages and my belongings damaged.
