At the time we moved it, all seemed well. It wasn't until recently that we suddnely found ourselves with a water geyser in the basement. The PVC pipe work that had been done for the sump pump after the crock was sealed off came loose and started spraying water everywhere in the basement. Rich Drew from AES came over within a day of our call for help. According to his assessment, there were many problems with the installation that wouldn't have been in place if he had done that part of it (he does all of the work, and is a one-man operation). We asked if he knew who did, since that was presumably part the radon remediation. He did not, but offered to redo the job correctly, free of charge. This was a very generous offer, and we now feel comfortable with the work done and confident we won't be experiencing another basement geyser any time soon.
Description of Work: Radon remediation services for the basement of the house we were buying after it tested positive for radon.

I was extremely pleased with the professional nature of Rick's work and he installed the radon remediation system in the most unobtrusive manner possible. Rick made it clear that he does all of his installations using the same care as if it was his own home. Rick's price also included installation of a new submersible sump pump as he had to seal my sump crock so his price was the lowest I was able to find considering everything he did. I highly recommend Rick to anyone in need of radon remediation services.
Description of Work: A home I recently purchased had significantly elevated radon levels. The average radon level tested at 19.5 pCi/L while the EPA indicates that levels in excess of 4.0 are dangerous. Rick came in and remediated the radon through installation of a fan that vented radon gas trapped beneath my concrete slab through the roof. By the conclusion of the project, radon levels were reduced to 0.6 pCi/L and have remained at the same levels since.
