Three years ago, we had Mitchell's install an AC/heat pump system in our home. They were prompt and honest on pricing and installation. We had no complaints and the system has worked well since installation. Last year we had Mitchell's spec out and install a new boiler with added hot water heater capabilities. We added a water softener system for good measure. They did great work at a fair price and were more than accountable when we had to call them back for a small issue. I have no complaints and would refer them for any heating or cooling needs.

update 8/2...I had to rewrite the review because I referred to my hot water heating boiler as a furnace. He called my review false because it is actually a hot water boiler heating system. This is the con man at work. I am sure the judge will laugh at the distinction he is trying to make! It was offered as a free estimate. I accepted it and gave him money. Then he came over and said he could not fix it, that I needed a new furnace! Why not tell me that the first time!! Unprofessional! Lost trust, game over.7/31 ..They gave me a free bid to repair my Boiler and I sent them $600 for a deposit. When they came to do the repair they said I needed a new furnace. I declined and asked them to send my deposit back. I started a small claim today after giving them notice to give my money back to weeks ago! CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH!! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!! UPDATE 8/5/2020.. This is a follow up to my previous review? I won in small claims court there weeks ago. All he had to say was "go f--- yourself. Wow, what a pro! So, far he has not paid me. I will need to file a claim against his business. For $600!! This clown allows his business to be sullied. Genius!
Response from Mitchell's Heating & Cooling
"I am again responding to Mr. Gottsacker's latest review. He has responded that because we pointed out the wrong classification for his job lead, he feels this is a point that matters. We only acknowledged the difference in the category in the response that Home Advisor asked us to give so that the facts would be known and that we would be charged the correct amount for the lead as it was not an "exact match". The category has nothing to do with the circumstances of the job. Mr. Gottsacker does not indicate that the proposal sent to him clearly states the job was for the replacement of the inducer motor assembly only not a new boiler. As previously stated, we explained to Mr. Gottsacker that the proposal was for replacing the inducer motor assembly only and that when we replaced the inducer motor assembly there could be additional problems. His wife spoke with our technician when we went to do the job and after seeing the additional problems, she stated she would prefer to replace the boiler than put more money into it and would speak to her husband. We were never asked to provide a proposal for the replacement of the boiler. Yes, we give free estimates and he got that in the form of the proposal, he was not charged for this. He was not forced to accept it in any way. We sent him a proposal for replacing the inducer motor assembly, clearly not to replace the boiler. He sent us his down payment attached to his copy of the proposal and we are very confused as to why he is claiming we misrepresented ourselves. We provided a free estimate, issued a proposal requesting a down payment if he accepted the terms, and he sent us a down payment accepting the terms. We will provide the court with a copy of his down payment and contract. We will not address this again unless Home Advisor advises us to. We feel Mr. Gottsacker regrets his decision in hoping to get any easy fix although he was advised that we could not guarantee the after changing the inducer motor assembly there would not be additional problems that could not be diagnosed until the inducer motor assembly was replaced. It appeared that Mr. Gottsacker had tried to work on the equipment himself, when the technician arrived, the equipment had some parts on the floor. We still feel that Mr. Gottsacker regrets his decision and it trying to find a way to justify that. We regret he feels this way, he is well aware of the proposal content."

The owner is very rude to women! He threatened me that the furnace would not if I did not have a check in full for the job. I started this project October 29th and they jusy completed it today. I have no leverage on him if the furnace does not work but just wanted him out of my life. I did have a local police officer here in case the owner did show up. He sent his technician who did the work and he was pleasant and professional. I would not recommend this company at all and if you do hire them have everything in writing.

Mitchell's replaced our propane furnace. Mitch was very prompt. He is personable. His bid was fair. He honored his bid. His work was done on time and met our schedule. I am glad I found him to do the work.

Mitchell's went out of their way to install within 1 week because of the 4th of July holiday. Work was professional and the work was done right. Issues with connecting to old heater were overcome. A job well done.
