The only problem was that the dish washer was not securely fastened to the cabinet. The fastener came loose and the unit rocked left and right when the door was opened. Once told, Stagecoach promptly returned to fix it, explaining that Bosch installs are difficult when a side mount is required due to a stone counter top above. Although fastened, the plumber apparently did not pre-drill the hole before using an over sized screw to hold the dishwasher in place, splitting the cabinet wood on the side. This was not visible until I asked our finish carpenter if he could possibly better line up the dishwasher with the cabinet sides a bit better. To address the split, he used a smaller screw and glue to minimize any further potential splitting. I expect a professional job no matter whether plumbing or wood related work is being done. Having resolved the issue myself, and tired of dealing with these kind of issues, I paid their bill in full, explaining my concerns and never heard back.
In all fairness, I want to point out that the plumbing, per se, seemed to be fine, without leaks or problems and was neatly done. Moreover, the plumber seemed quite cordial. However, I expect a professionally finished job through all steps. Regarding price, Stagecoach was recommended to me by our granite supplier, who told me the price would be considerably lower. That was the reason for the "C" grade. I did not get alternative bids. Of interest, the plumber commented that the faucet we installed as part of our counter top package from the granite installer was a "throw away" in that getting parts for a non-mainstream faucet could be very difficult. We shall see.
Note: I also found a dent in the new hardwood floors near the Bosch, likely a dropped tool by one of the subs working for us. I cannot know exactly when/how this happened. However, for your own protection before any work is done, inspect the cabinets, walls and floors surrounding the work site and afterwards do a quick check, preferably when the sub is there. Take pictures. It is important to discuss protective measures with all of the subs working in your home.
The guy did a very nice job of plumbing.
The guy was a subcontractor; we had called a general handyman service.
The bill was for 3.5 hrs work, and was about $400.
I called the general handyman service about the bill (and got this information of 3.5 hr), but my wife had already paid the bill and the handyman service had already paid the plumbing contractor (Stagecoach).
It could have been a simple mistake... the number of hours. But I feel ripped off of $200.
