Our condo was built in 1994. When we purchased it in 2004, every room had been updated except for the master bathroom. Even though the condo was built in 1994, the master bath looked was decorated in the 1980's. The shower was so small, I couldn't wash my hair without hitting my elbows on the walls. In contrast, the whirlpool tub was so large, our water heater couldn't provide enough hot water to fill the tub to the level of the jets - it wasn't possible to take a hot bath! We finally got to the point where we had to do something. I sketched up some concepts and got some quotes from o couple of remodeling contractor's. Needless to say, we were stunned by the quotes we received. I shared our disappointment with a friend who suggested that I contact Brian Soper. I thought, "what the heck", and gave Brian a call. Brian came to our home to review our plans. He was very genial and took the time to fully understand what we were looking to accomplish with our project. A few days later, he came back and gave us a quote that was well within our original expectations. He explained all of the work that he expected to be doing and highlighted items that might change once we got into the project and learned if there were any surprises under the floor or behind the drywall. The project progressed very quickly. Brian did an excellent job of protecting the floors outside of the bathroom and isolating the work area to prevent dust getting everywhere in the condo. Brian checked in with me every morning to discuss the work planned for the day and every evening to talk about how the day went and what was on tap for the next day. He was also excellent at contacting me during the day if any issues cropped up. His subcontractors were also very good - they were there when they said they'd be there and they all did excellent quality work. The only holdup during the project was the delay caused by "the tile guy" - I had decided to self-perform the tile installation. It took me a little longer to get the work done than I had expected. Thankfully, Brian was very understanding and was able to adjust his schedule to accommodate my delay. Even with the "owner-induced" delay, the project was complete in six weeks. Brian took made sure that all of the punch-list items were taken care of, walked the various inspectors through and made sure we had their final approval. The project went exceedingly well and I would HIGHLY recommend Soper Construction to anyone considering a project of this size and complexity.
