There was a dramatic difference immediately after the spraying, with no noticeable mosquitoes walking the property with the technician after completion of the job. Today is day 5 after spraying and we are still mosquito free. We even spent time outside this weekend, grilling on the patio and playing with our dog, and no mosquito bites. I do notice a stray mosquito here and there, but it's still dramatically better than before, when our yard was unusable. It will be interesting to see how long this application lasts. I do realize that effectiveness of the spraying depends on the rainfall amount. The technician also told me that the spray kills mosquitoes on contact. They must land on a treated area to be killed. Anyway, we are satisfied at this point; we at least enjoyed a mosquito-free July 4th weekend, and hope the effect lasts much longer.
I wanted to have our yard sprayed prior to having a family gathering over the Forth of July. We were told that once it was sprayed it will protect your yard and family from ticks and mosquitoes for at least a month but we would need another spraying in approx 1 month to protect for the rest of the season. However, it happened to rain prior to the weekend and the mosquito "bloom" was terrible. Once the sun went down everyone was forced inside. Several in my family commented on the "terrible mosquitoes" at different times, not realizing that we had sprayed. I was embarrassed and upset because it affected our gathering and forced us inside which is what I was trying to prevent. My parents live less than 3 miles away and have a similar layout in their yard and the mosquitoes problem for them was better than ours and they didn't spray. We had also paid extra to have the yard sprayed for ticks because it was such a bad season but 2 days after the Fourth (despite being so late in the season) my daughter had a tick that was crawling on her while she was in the yard. I called the company and to their credit they came out immediately, however they stated that "there is nothing that we can do because when it rains and a mosquito bloom occurs, the mosquitoes must land on the product to kill them. It doesn't affect the flying ones which is likely what happened at our gathering." I found this disheartening in that you pay for the protection but if it rains, you WON'T be protected. He did express concern about the tick problem being that they do stay on the grass surface and should not be alive. He thought that the initial spray was not done correctly (new employee) and he resprayed. I was concerned why it was sprayed incorrectly and if the other spray had also not been done correctly but he thought it was. As a result when they called 1 month later for the 2nd spray (we had paid for the whole season) we politely declined because we were disappointed in the product and they did reimburse us $140 of the $370 that it cost. They were very polite and prompt but we were disappointed in the product and felt a little taken by the fact that they don't warn you a head of time of the possible lack of effect should it rain or a "bloom" develop prior to an event. As a side note, the rest of the summer the mosquitoes were never a problem (at our house or our parents) despite not respraying
Owner and personnel were good to work with. Would use again and would recommend service to others.
