"I talked to Shirley ahead of time and quoted her what it was going to be to add a much taller mast. She agreed to it and billing is based upon the time it takes to complete the project and the min. is one hour. I believe most service companies do that. We took down a 6 ft. pole and put up a 12 ft. pole for her TV Antenna system. She was getting better reception and was pleased with the result. With imports from China and the costs of metal going up, they are not cheap. I gave her a $50 discount after I spoke with her - I thought that was extremely fair. She didn't have to go with us - she could have shopped around."
"When it comes to a TV Antenna repair situation like in this case, we always give the customer a choice of either to fix it OR replace the whole system. Dean was given that choice - and he said to go ahead and replace his TV Antenna system since his was 10-12 years old that he put up awhile back. A TV Antenna repair is typically $75-$150 plus any parts if needed depending upon the situation. Obviously, if we replace the system then we charge for removing the old TV Antenna, the cost of a new TV Antenna and the labor associated with it and any misc. parts. Leroy did this job for Dean. If you read other reviews here on Home Advisor - you will see Leroy's name mentioned other times and nothing but glowing satisfaction from other people that we did work for. The customer did ask how much the TV Antenna was - Leroy told him $200. He needed a long range TV Antenna as he lives in Allenton, quite a distance a way from the TV towers in Milwaukee. So, add in the labor - keep in mind that he was there for over 3 hours - and the bill was $500 AND we threw in a $100 amp to make him happy that day. Apparently, he was still NOT happy since he wrote this review. I think that if he had the chance to do it all over again, he would have done it himself. We asked him - do you want to do a TV Antenna repair OR a new system OR nothing at all. He choose to have us replace the system - $500 may seem like a lot, but when you get 40-50 channels at a min. - and you are getting FREE over the air TV for LIFE - then at the end of the day it is a small investment to make to watch TV - and better than a Cable bill!!!"
"When we discuss a customer's TV Antenna project - we tell people that we run a new coax wiring from the TV Antenna into the house and then we would tie into the existing internal wiring as is. Over the course of time almost all people have had some type of Cable service in their house - either Time Warner now Spectrum or ATT or Dish or Directv. However we do understand that we may need to do some additional wiring on the inside of the household. In the email quote that we send it says: (In a bigger font & in bold) "This would be with tying into your existing wiring inside the household as is. We can do coax cable wire runs if needed as an additional cost." When the tech came to do the install he noticed and said right away to Ken that the existing wiring had been cut - and Ken said that the previous provider must have cut the lines. He didn't even know that until my tech told him that. So, the tech said that we can do the job but it will be an additional cost per TV to run the wires. He agreed to it no problem. We finished installing his system and got him over 50 channels. Once again, if the customer doesn't know that his lines were cut - how are we suppose to know ????? We charge him $45 per TV, an Electrician would charge $100-$150 per Cable run. So, at the end of the day the project costs more than what we originally thought, he know has FREE over the air channels and is set for LIFE!!! A small investment to get rid of his $125 a month Cable bill."
