The concern was mold was on surface of siding and did not penetrate it. The inside window casing would consistently ice-up and black mold form on the wood. This situation prompt us to hire someone. We used QRS before on an another project several years ago. The rear part of the house facing "North" became infested with black mold. The project started in October. After removing the siding and trim boards, it was discovered that mold had penetrated to the pink insulation surface. Mold did not penetrate through the pink insulation. The project was temporarily put on hold to have our home insurance agent inspect it. We decided to revise the estimate by ordering custom un-stained Sierra Pacific windows. QRS insisted to stain the windows in their shop to match our existing casings in our house. Luis Ruiz, President of QRS, removed and brought the window casing with him for a match. They had delivered the smart-siding boards and laid them on our driveway. It had snowed many inches and now was covered in a pile of snow. I was concerned about the smart-siding being exposed to the elements, but Jake Ruiz (VP of QRS) said it would be okay. In December, there were a few days above 30 degrees. The projected started again and the workers came out to install the smart-siding and cedar trim boards. They had scaffolding on the patio deck. They removed the existing Hurd windows and installed the new Sierra Pacific windows and put blown insulation around them. We noticed that the window stain color was not the correct match as our existing casings in our house. We told them, but they said it was what was they put on it. We didn't like the match. We insisted that they needed to correct the stain somehow. They said that they could put some "yellowish" stain on the existing stain to match it. But the yellowish stain over what they did to the windows is just a "patch-job", and the true color match actual has a bit of "orange color" to it. Jake said they would come out when the temperature was above 40's to finish the outside of the house with caulking and additional painting. On February 26, 2017, we had a warming trend of 50 degree weather with threat of some rain. They came back to caulk and paint the siding and trim boards. The caulk used was Vulkem (manufacture says it take 30 hours for full cure). All night it rained, but they were back out the next day to finish caulking and painting. I questioned the owners, Luiz and Jake Ruiz whether it was a good idea to do this when weather is going to rain. They got upset at me and said "I'm not trusting their professionalism and which they have been doing for 28 years." QRS said that they will come back to finish inside the house later in June perhaps, when temps are in 70's and can open windows, because they will need to put Polyshade varnish over the stain to try to match the existing casings in the house. We have gotten painters to look at the color of the window moulding stain and they said it clearly does not match. QRS has not finished the job. I don't think I want them to. If they do, they will have to correct the strip and redo the stain on the windows.

The project went very well, lasting about three weeks.  The workmen were exceptionally prompt, arriving predictably every morning at 7:30 am.  They placed drop clothes in all areas, covering the steps to the upstairs with plastic sheeting which kept dust to a minimum.  They cleaned up and vacuumed every night before leaving.  They consciously kept as low a profile as possible while working in our home, so the experience was as minimally disruptive as possible.  They explained and answered all questions, and worked cooperatively with us each step of the way.  They addressed and solved problems as they came up, such as the delivery of a wrongly constructed  window, which was corrected by the next day.  The tiling of walls and floor took longer than expected due to some concerns about the floor tile, which required more attention than anticipated, and the fact that smaller wall tiles had to be placed individually.  The person who did the tile work proceeded as an artisan, with patience and competence.  We love how light and open the bathroom is, especially when the setting sun streams into the room, lighting everything up.  We had a very positive experience working with Quality Remodeling Specialists.  They were exceptionally responsive, competent and pleasant to deal with.

Quality Remodeling kept me informed during the process, cleaned up each night and finished on time. There were some costs I was not prepared for, but they were reasonable.

Had a relatively significant leak inside porch coming from wlakout porch above. After having trouble getting timely estimates I called Quality Remodeling Specialists. They met me within a day and gave an estimate. When the work began they ran into a lot of issues they showed me and were very thorough in ecxplaining my options. The work they did was excellent and I would use them again. The job cost a little more than I initially anticipated, but less than I expected with the amount of work done.
