I’m in the process of buying my first home and just had my first inspection. We chose Hensiak Home Inspection based off a friends recent experience with them. We are so thankful we decided to use them! Doug was awesome, he let us follow him around giving us information about everything he saw and giving us tips on how to maintain certain things. We never felt rushed he took his time explaining everything and being a first time home buyer that was much appreciated! We received the inspection report within a few hours with very detailed information. We were very impressed with Hensiak Home Inspections and we will definitely be recommending them and using them in the future!

They performed a very detailed inspection of a 2200 square foot house and walked us through each part.  Scheduling was easy and they were able to get us in quickly.  I was very glad that I came along for the inspection since I found so much of their information valuable, and they only documented what was needed.  They explained items that were potential issues, and added tips and tricks for maintenance and maintaining items in the future.  They took pictures and had the whole document on their ipad.  They were able to email it to us right away.  The inspected inside and out (even though there was snow outside), including all of the outlets, tested all windows, they tested the attic, and the vents and many things we wouldn't have thought of.  Many windows did fail, but those were the only major issue with our house.  The inspection was $450 and the radon test was $175.  The inspection took about 2 hours, and the radon was left there for 48 hours.  We were glad we did the radon test, since it did come up very high.  They also left us with a little packet that included information to keep for a maintenance schedule for the home.

Doug Hensiak and his son Barret performed the home inspection for us today. They both were so great - I can't say enough about them! We called to schedule our inspection - the woman who answered the phone was very nice, took our info & contacted Doug to see when they would be available. She called us back within 5 minutes and was able to set up the inspection for 3 days later, which was great. Doug & Barret were there before we got there, walking around the outside of the home. They were extremely professional, nice and did a fantastic job. They took pictures of everything during the inspection but what was awesome is they would make sure to show you everything they were looking at and explain it all through-out walking around the house. They did a very thorough job and I felt the price was very fair (this was a bigger property so it was great that they both could come). They answered every question, made recommendations about fixing things and let us know the things that really needed to be addressed ASAP.  He also made sure we were comfortable with everything they talked about before we left. Within a couple hours after we left, a very detailed report of all findings with all the pictures was emailed to us. I would highly recommend using Doug and Barret for home inspection services.

Doug was great!  He was there before we arrived and had already looked around the outside of the house.  He did a great job of explaining what he saw and provided recommendations on how it could be fixed in the future.  Doug answered all of our questions and took time to explain his answers and provide suggestions.  We would definitely use Hensiak in the future.

It went very well. He was thorough and explained everything and answered all our questions. He is training his son and went over what his son had inspected and his son did a thorough job as well. He did a good job of explaining what the previous hone owner had done and ways we could improve on it where necessary.

rHe made an appointment and it was within 2 days.
I went through the entire home with Doug and asked lots of questions which he thoughtfully answered.
He set up the Radon Test before he left.  At my house, he printed out the report and went over it with me so that I could address with the seller any concerns and there were many.
Two days later, he returned and finished the Radon test showing that we had an extreme amount of Radon and need a remediation system.
He was very helpful giving me resources since I was new to town.  I used his plumber, electrician, roofer and others and all were excellent as he was.
I have called him since and he is always willing to assist me at no charge with his knowledge and recommending tradesman to help me repair the house.
He is outstanding!

He was on time, very knowledgeable, professional, and extremely thorough. I would not hesitate to use his services again.

Doug was at the house when we arrived already working on the inspection. 

He did a very thorough job inspecting every aspect of our "new home". It

was encouraging to hear many good things, as well as the other items that

needed addressing.

 

Doug gave us suggestions throughout, of how to keep the house in good

maintenance for many years to come.

He called us two days later to let us know the Radon test came back high.



The written report was very thorough.  Not only did he list the items that

needed some  attention, but also gave us a suggested maintenance schedule

for future update.  This will be very helpful, as everyone knows, your head

is spinning with information as you go through the process of buying a house.



I would recommend Doug and would go with him in the future.

First my realtor gave me 5 or 6 cards of home inspectors he said his clients recommended.  I was skepital, but that's why I have the angie's list service.  After reviewing the reviews and doing some other research, I decided to go with Hensiak.  I actually used their website to request an apoinment and someone called me back within a couple of hours.  The person doing the scheduling was professional and freindly.  They made arrangements with my realtor to setup of the Randon Test a couple days before the inspection so that I would hve all the results on the day of the inspection.  A big plus in my mind.  I showed up at the house a few minutes early and Doug was already working.  He was freindly ad helpful from the beginning.  He was thorough and he pointed out and explained everything to me.  He answered any question I had.  He explained anything he cosidered a defect and what he thought could be done.  And the best part is he brought a portal printer and was able to print the report summary right there in te house.  By 8 pm that night, I had the complete report email to me with pictures.  
The price seemed reasonable with other prices I saw online.  In the end though, I thought it was worth the money.

He was fantastic. He was very thorough and a great guy all together. Their price is pretty standard in the City of Wisconsin as far as home inspections go. It was fair. We just had a basic inspection done; we did not have any radon, litigation system or any type of other systems. He just did the basic from the roof, to the gutters, to the inside, to the outlets, and electricity. He was very experienced, very professional, a nice guy, and very punctual. He was on time; he had actually setup the appointment at 8 a.m. and I was running a few minutes behind. He got there at 7:30 a.m. or half an hour prior to the appointment, and he had already started looking at the roof, the chimney and all the things that were needed to be in his report. So, he saved some time there for both himself and me. Altogether, he was straight to the point. He had let us known what needed to be repaired ASAP and what not to be repaired as soon as possible.

I called Hensiak Inspection Service on a Friday trying to get an inspection done on either the following Monday or Wednesday.  We had both a short time-line and a number of complicated schedules to accommodate.  Doug was able to fit us in on Wednesday at a time that suited everyone. The person who took all of my information over the phone and made my appointment was very friendly.  I contacted the company by email again on Tuesday asking if they could include a radon test (and additional $125) and they responded very quickly by email.  Doug arrived on time and was very efficient in performing the inspection.  However, he took whatever time we needed to explain what he was doing and give us advice on ongoing future home maintenance.  When he was done with the inspection, Doug printed out a summary that we could take with us and e-mailed the full report later on in the day.  We certainly feel very well served by Doug.  Perhaps more importantly, however, is that our very experienced realtor (who had never worked with Doug before) was so pleased with Doug's work that she offered him another job on the spot.

I called Doug at 8:30am and asked for a home inspection to be done the same day. He rearranged his schedule to accomodate my very tight schedule. I arrived at the appointed time a few minutes early and he had already been up on the roof knowing that I had no intentions of joining him. He was extremely thorough and made sure that I understood every point of the inspection. He provided me with a summary report on the spot along with recommendations for proper routine home maintenance and sent us the detailed report (pictures included) within a few hours electronically.

Doug was very prompt, actually a little early. He was very thorough with the inspection of our new home and always made sure to explain everything to me as I walked through the inspection with him. He was also very willing to answer any of my questions during the inspection process. At the conclusion of the inspection he wrote up the results and presented me with a bound copy of the inspection report. The report contains all the details of all the issues he found during the inspection. He also provides a summary of all the issues at the beginning of the report as a quick reference with reference numbers corresponding to the details of each of the issues. He also categorized each of the issues into one of 3 categories. The first category is items that are a safety concern (items that need to be addressed immediately). The second category is items that are not an immediate safety concern, but are things that would need to be addressed in the near future if not immediately. The third category was a list of "honey-do" items. Because our home contained a crawl-space Doug suggested that we have a radon test conducted in addition to his regular inspection. I think that recommendation was also made based on the fact that radon levels in the area of our home quiet often run high. Upon Doug's recommendation and personal investigation of radon levels in our area, we decided to have Doug perform a radon test too. His test revealed that the home does have a radon level that is slightly higher than the EPA's acceptable range. We are currently seeking a way to reduce the radon level and get it into the EPA's acceptable range. If Doug had not made that suggestion I may have overlooked the radon issue entirely and put the lives of my family at risk. He also took pictures of the items that needed to be addressed and sent them to me via email.

Doug Hensiak provided detailed information on condition of the house focusing on our concern of attic and basement and ice dam problems. We found Doug's inspection of the electrical and plumbing to be very thorough also. The inspection and written report are well worth the fee of $350 Due to his technical knowledge and advice, we will not be at the "mercy" of contractors as his inspection was educational and explanations non-intimidating.

IT WAS AN OLDER HOME AND HE DID A GREAT JOB OF EXPLAINING THINGS ON THE FLY WHEN WE NEEDED THEM. REASONABLY PRICED.
