How did it go overall? Not well.
I never knew the tenant built a 12 long wall in the basement to create a room until after it was completed . I never knew Design Build was the General Contractor until over two months after the room was completed and Design Build sent an invoice. The first invoice I received from Design Build was for the electrical, both material and labor.($304.19) Design Build listed the electrical contractor who did the work, but when I called the electrical contractor they had no knowledge of doing any work on my rental property. The second invoice I received from Design Build was a demand to pay $571.09 for material costs, or a lien would be placed against the property. $474.99 of that invoice was a Home Depot Quote dated three months after the wall was completed, and the material listed does not match up the the material used for this room. (And did I mention? It is just a quote for material, it is not for material purchased.) The balance of the invoice was Home Depot receipts dated two months after the room was completed.
So how is it going?
I've contacted the Attorney General's office .
I'm calling my attorney.
