Culligan came to the house 3 times to fix a problem with my water softener failing though regeneration cycles.  They couldn't reproduce the problem but as soon as the system did the next regeneration it would fail again.  I finally took the circuit board out and found a failed resister and a trace that had obviously been damaged.  I called somewhat upset with them.  They did get back to me and eventually rectified the failure at a fair price. 

I am impressed with a company that even though I had problems and was initially a disenchanted customer they stood behind their product and made it right in the end.

The repair man introduced himself.  He was minimized the mess from his shoes.  He made an effort to keep our cats from going outside (success).  The same man come this year as last year.  He remembered our problems last year.  This year he was able to find a problem.  He explained the options.  The complete repair and the less expensive but less effective work around.  All of the parts were on his truck.  The work was done quickly.  Any mess was cleaned up.  The process to recharge the softener and when we should see the results we explained well.

They were one time. They were polite and explained everything to me before he did any work. The price was fair and I am very pleased with his service. I have not had a problem with the water softener since.

ORIGINALLY THE SALESMAN, SERVICE PEOPLE AND INSTALLATION WENT GREAT. WE HAD A FEW PROBLEMS BUT THEY WERE TAKEN CARE OF PROMPTLY BY SERVICE GUYS. THE PROBLEMS CAME ABOUT AFTER ONE YEAR OF HAVING THE SOFTENER. ORIGINALLY, WE SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR 1 YEAR OF FREE SALT DELIVERY. AT THE END OF THE YEAR WE HAD TO NOTIFY CULLIGAN THAT WE NO LONGER WANTED THE SERVICE AT $20.97 A MONTH. WE CALLED TO CANCEL AND SPOKE TO A WOMAN THAT TOOK THE INFO AND THAT'S IT. WE DID ASK FOR SALT TO BE DELIVERED TWICE A YEAR AT A CHARGE. WE STARTED RECEIVNG BILLS FOR $20.97 A MONTH AND WHEN I CALLED I WAS TOLD THAT WE HAD TO GIVE THE NOTICE IN WRITING. WE WERE NOT REMINDED OF THIS ON THE ORIGINAL CALL. IT WAS OF COURSE, OUR ERROR FOR NOT REREADING THE CONTRACT, BUT A FRIENDLY REMINDER WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. INSTEAD, I WAS TOLD, TWICE ON THE SAME CALL, BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON THAT IT IS NOT HER PROBLEM THAT I DID NOT READ THE CONTRACT WHEN I SIGNED IT. I AGREE THAT WE HAVE TO PAY AND ARE GOING TO DO THAT. I JUST THINK THAT TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DESPICABLE.

They were very professional. The water softener worked well. Eventually we looked into buying. Unfortunately, it was more expensive to buy the one we were renting - so we had it taken out and bought a different one.

It took a couple of different people to look at it before it was really fixed properly, and the fix was actually just a programming problem within the system. The charge was 0 because I have salt delivered by Culligan and it is a Culligan softener.

THE COST IS HIGHER FOR THE SALT DELIVERY THAN IF WE JUST GOT THE SALT FROM THE STORE, BUT IT IS SO NICE TO JUST HAVE IT DELIVERED TO THE DOOR. THEY WILL LEAVE WHATEVER NUMBER OF BAGS WE WANT AND IF WE AREN'T HOME THEY JUST LEAVE THEM ON THE PORCH. NO PROBLEMS WITH THE WATER SOFTENER OR THE SALT DELIVERY.
