Ramiro was very responsive and professional when other providers I contacted were radio silent or did not want the job due to its relatively small size. Since this was a smaller job during peak season, he told me up-front that he would need to fit it in when his team had a short break in between jobs, and when weather cooperated. He actually followed up a few weeks later without my prompting. Team arrived promptly and performed work in a very professional manner.

We were not able to complete the work because of issues on our end, but I thought Castillo provided a great estimate and showed great potential.

Mr. Castillo and his crew arrived promptly, tore down what remained of the original wall, dug out the foundation for a drainage bed of gravel (not part of the original wall), and rebuilt the wall carefully matching the stones by size (original wall had had many outsized stones). This wall is much better constructed and much more attractive than the original. I am completely satisfied with the resulting wall. He even raked and seeded a 3 x4 ft patch of bare ground along the side of the driveway and replaced a fence post at no extra charge! Something like this has never happened to me before! I wholeheartedly recommend Castillo Landscaping.

They removed an old flagstone patio approximately 550 square feet in area, re-graded the site, added several tons of new aggregate base and sand, and expertly placed large pieces of red Colorado flagstone. The narrow spaces between the flagstones were filled with polymeric sand. The new patio is beautiful! Mr. Castillo was very careful to protect trees, turf, and garden beds while using heavy equipment in our yard, and attention to detail is evident in every facet of the installation. The week before, he advised us at the quarry while selecting all the stone. He also excavated extra deeply to prepare the site for a granite bench alongside the patio and for massive granite stepping stones from the patio up to the house. We had originally planned to have the stone slabs provide a two-step access only off the dining room onto the patio, but this solution worked so well that we added the same for an access off the den. Mr. Castillo and his crew went to great lengths to get just the proper height and orientation for the steps. This company prides itself on high quality design, installation, and customer service!

Within days after my inquiry, Mr. Castillo came out to take measurements and explained how they could construct the walkway down the 6" drop to the driveway and also make rainwater flow in the proper direction away from the foundation. One week later, he and some crew members arrived exactly on time to excavate and lay the pavers. I appreciated the attention to detail such as taking care not to disturb plantings in the area and using polymeric sand in the paver joints at the end of the job. Now six months later, after many rainstorms and freezing temperatures, the pavers are still perfectly placed!

His job was thorough. He put in 14in footer for the pavers. He really pounded in the sand so the bricks don’t move an inch. He follows up on any issues you may have. He delivers high quality work and you definitely get what you pay for.
