We looked at several different companies for this job, and they had the best price. They came and installed the fireplace. They came when they said they would, and it looks great. When everything else in our home was done for the remodel, they came back out to make sure everything was set up well and that it was working properly. Other companies wanted to charge us for a service call for this service to come back. But with American Fireplace, it is their policy. I really appreciated that and am pleased with the fireplace. I would definitely use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

They are the only company that I could find that had a bay window for a fireplace, as well as provided a sturdy cast iron Vermont Fireplace. They were the only dealer of three I went to that came out before I committed to buy to do measurements. It was a complicated install, and I was impressed that the advance stop was so accurate that the install problems happened as expected, and the expected corrections look great, and the project just fell right into place.

It was hard to get anyone to wait on me when I went to the showroom. Bob Rast was punctual for my in-home appointment. He offered to make a custom-sized surround at no additional charge, since the standard sizes would not have worked with our installation. We waited several weeks for fabrication (the insert itself was in-stock) instead of the two weeks delivery Bob had stated. When the guys installed the insert, it turned out Bob had ordered the surround in the wrong size. It was re-ordered, but again took twice as long as quoted. The guys also did not install a chimney connector kit I found after they left, and they punched a hole in our siding while wrestling the insert into the house. Other installers came out several weeks later to install the chimney connector kit and the surround. American apologized for the damage to our siding and deducted the cost of repairs from our bill. The whole experience and delays were a bit frustrating, but in the end we were satisfied.

Excellent work, we love our fireplace, and they also recommended some options that were inexpensive, that we did not even know existed. Everyone comments on our fireplace when they come into our house.
