Ability Plus Pool Table Co

I purchased an awesome pool table from John. He set it up well and he really knows his stuff. Great prices. I used him again to break it down for me in 2011. Anytime I need a pool table delivered and set up, I am calling him.

John showed actuallly showed up at my niece's place early. They got right to work, and had the pool table disassembled and loaded into their van very quickly. They removed the existing felt, said it was in great shape, and didn't need to be replaced. The local retailer had informed me that any table that was moved would need to be re-felted--almost doubling the cost of the move. John did the work of removing the felt with care, and saved me money in the process. He did warn me on our initial call that it would be possible (although not likely) that I would need to replace the cushions on the old table. But when he examined the table in person, he said the cushions were in excellent shape and didn't need replacing (saving me even more money).
They delivered the pool table to my house right away, and had it set up in just the right spot. John has a lot of experience in the industry so I followed his advice on placing the table. After getting the table frame set up and the slate put in place, they levelled the slate very precisely using a machinist's level. They used beeswax to fill the tiny gaps between the slate pieces and bondo to correct some small imperfections at the outside edges of the slate. When that step was complete I had a perfectly flat and level slate sitting on the frame.
They then restretched the felt on the slate, making it extremely taut and smooth. After that they re-installed the rails, and finished by re-levelling the table. They brushed the cloth clean and rolled a few balls around the table to verify it was good.
John did go above and beyond by supplying a small trim piece that was missing from the table when he picked it up from my niece's condo.
Overall, the process took about four or five hours, including the driving time. John was great to work with, and I would have no problem recommending him to anyone. He obviously has a lot of knowledge and experience, he pays extreme attention to detail, and the result shows: the table plays beautifully.
