He argued that the guy writing the contract didn't know what he was saying, and also that many were not necessary. He had a terrible attitude. He left to get the beams, I called a lawyer for quick advise. The building inspector informed me it was OK with 36 inches, but since he promised this it was 10 more. After struggling to negotiate I let him know my lawyer's contact info if he had any troubles. He was more apt to help at this point, giving $250 off per beam. I called them in 2009, one year later. The gentleman coming out stated denied damaging siding, incorrectly doing sidewalk, etc. All they would do was offer dirt to fill in. I also had to have the gas company come out. The pipe ended up being cracked (they didn't glue the two ends of the PVC). They also did not grate properly. The water eventually broke the pipe which I wouldn't have known except the gas company spotted this. I spent about $5,000 while correcting this. My downspouts are underground, they totally wrecked one of these. I got a quote to replace trees they damaged and it was about $2,000. I am currently involved in a lawsuit with them. The walls now seem to be holding, but it has only been a few years. The work inside was OK, but the outside work and attitude of their employees was terrible. The price was good for the scope of work, but not for the end result I got. They could have cleaned up the job site better too.
Description of Work: I hired them to replace my basement walls. They were crumbling and coming in. They needed straightened, steel bars put in. The contract was for 24 inches on center for the beams in the basement. They dug along the foundation on two sides of my house. It was then that the owner showed me where he was going to put them. He mentioned they would be 36 inches on center. I informed him that was what the contract called for.
