We had called to get an estimate on moving a hot tub and base 1 block to our new home. The quote was very high ($425) but we agreed because of time time required to move the base and spa, leveling, etc. My husband gave specific instructions to call him first so he could meet him at the other house as there are other people living there now. They did not call. Instead they showed up at the other house and disturbed the occupants there. (They later called to say that the driver was insulting and broke a new lawn ornament.) They showed up with just the spa with no base indicating they never intended to move the base. When my husband and I attempted to discuss this rationally with the driver (who then identified himself as the owner - Jeremy Gill) - he focused on me and began calling me ignorant and stupid. My husband informed him that he was not to talk to his wife that way but he ignored him and focused his anger on me. After being repeatedly insulted, I said I was done with this discussion and turned to walk away. He then yelled at me across the yard, "YOU'RE RETARDED!". I have worked professionally with people with developmental disabilities for over 20 years and am personally offended on their behalf for the use of the "R" word in any context. Using this word in order to effectively "curse" another person especially unacceptable. People with disabilities are deserving of dignity and respect and this shows a lack of both. As for his customer service, clearly, it is non-existant. Clearly someone in this type of business does not really care about repeat customers. (They sell hot tubs - it is a one time deal.) As for the value for the service - moving just a hot tub 1 block and dumping it in a lawn is absolutely not worth $425. (I have been told this could have been done for $100.) He did not even move the cord but simply ripped it out of the hot tub and left it in the other lawn with exposed wires. If you research this company, you will find that others have also complained about not getting what they expected or paid for. When the spa shop responds to them, they do nothing to resolve the situation, but instead resort to name calling. (In one case, he stated that the person filing the complaint was too stupid to own a spa.) If I could give this company any grade lower than an F, I would. I strongly recommend that you stay away from this business.
