It went very well. Plumber arrived, quickly assessed the issues with the original piping and installed the water heater. So far we have no issue hot water!

The Home Depot web page made the process very easy. Received a call the same day by Crew2 Inc. After talking to Crew2 on the phone they sent a quote via email. We set the installation for 2 days later. Crew2 passed the information to Watertight Water Care and they took over. Communications were great and the plumber was exactly what I had hoped for. He had great customer care skills and did a great job with the installation. I knew upfront that the labor was high but I did not want to waste a day trying to do the work without the proper tools and then deal with disposal of the old unit. The cost was worth it.

They’re really good, sweet and responsive. They did a really nice job for me. They wasted a lot of watertight and water came out to do that. After that, everything was fine and everything was working fine. I noticed that every time I flush the toilet, hot water would come out. So, I called them. They came out right away. The owner of the company came out and they installed a water softener because the on demand water system works better. You won’t have problems with it if you have water softener. They told me that in the summer time, they would always feed in a little bit of hot water into the tank so that the tank wouldn’t sweat. He fixed that and took care of everything. I also wanted him to increase the temperature on the hot water. They did that and fixed the toilet thing. When he was up in the bathroom, I mentioned that my sink was sluggish and I was going to get this one product to put in it and I asked him if it is a good idea. He said it was just a little trap thing. He cleaned it all out. The drain worked perfectly. He also brought five bags of salt for my water softener, which was handy. He charged me $60 and that included the salt. He said he is the owner and he can charge whatever he wants. He said that they really appreciate our business and thanked us for choosing them. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

He was recommended to me by his mother, who I happen to know. We were talking about it and she said her son does that. We called about 11 o'clock and my husband was explaining it to him and he said he didn't know why there would be wires as it's a gas water heater. He came right over and looked at it. He figured it out and said he'd be back later. By 4 o'clock we had a new water-heater in and working. We have hard water here and he asked who we rent from and how much we paid per month. We told him and he said he was $10 cheaper. So when we're out of stock we'll be calling him. That will be a savings there. He's a very nice guy. He's clean cut. It was 4 or 4:30 and my husband said it's been a long day and he said he was going out on another service call. So he's a go-getter. He was right on the spot, clean and I don't think the price was high for what he did. He went and got the heater and took the old one out too so I can't really complain. It would have taken longer with someone else and I'd rather work with a small business in my area. He was a really personable guy.

This is a very thorough, patient man. He struggled to attach difficult clamps to hold the sink. It included detaching the copper pipe from the dishwasher in order to pull the dishwasher out in order to get to the final clamp on the sink corner. Through it all he kept a smile and kept telling me this is all part of the job. I was very impressed with his work and his attitude!

I contacted local Home Depot on Sunday to replace a leaking hot water tank. They gave me an 800 number to call and gave me an estimate of $309 for labor. I called the 800 number and the person took some information and needed to transfer me to another person, but gave me her direct number and extension in case the phone transfer dropped. The second person took information to set up getting the hot water tank replaced the next day. I selected the 50 gal GE energy star model ($538). I was told the plumber (Watertight Watercare, Inc) would contact me the next day between 8 and 8:30am. I was told a permit was also needed and given a total estimate of $932. I had a time constraint where I couldn’t take delivery before 2pm. The second Home Depot person was willing to send an e-mail to the plumber, but I said I would work it out in the morning with the plumber. The next morning I got a call at 7:40am from Watertight Watercare to let me know the plumber would contact me shortly. Plumber called on time and set me up as the last delivery, which would be between 1:30 and 2 pm. Plumber said he would wait for me if he got there early and would call at noon with an update. Later in the day he called and said he took on another job to ensure he wouldn’t arrive before 2:30pm. He called at 3pm to let me know he was on his way. The plumber, Josh Dahl, arrived and proceeded to replace the old tank with the new one. When he was done, Josh explained that changing the tank meant that air had gotten into the pipes and to run the all faucets to clear out the entrapped air. Josh also suggested running the washer empty through a rinse cycle if any sediment got kicked up into the water. Josh explained that he set the tank temperature at 120 degrees and each dial increment was a 10-degree increase. (Safety issue - scalding water) Josh hauled out the old tank. He said he had to leave the new tank carton with us. No problem. I can deal with cardboard much easier then a 130 pound tank. After he was finished, Josh offered to wipe up the water on the basement floor. I declined as he had done more than enough already. The GE hot water tank is a vast improvement over the old tank. It doesn’t burn gas as often and there is no trace of any combustion smell. Total bill came out to $922.03. Home Depot left a message on my answering machine on Tuesday as a follow up. In summary, there was seamless communication between Home Depot, Watertight Watercare, and the ecustomer. Home Depot and Watertight Watercare were accommodating to my needs. Josh Dahl did an excellent job.

Super job. Worked us into the schedule on short notice. Even sent back the water heater that Sears gave us which did not work. We used them again on a small project because they were so helpful with our leaky water heater.

As I understand it, Watertight is a limited service plumbing company, but not exclusive to Sears. As I understand it, they specialize in water softeners and water heaters but will do limited faucet replacement, etc. (simple repairs). Installer was professional, friendly, on time and he installed my water heater without mess in less than 2 hours. He was careful when hauling the water heaters in and out of my house, and he cleaned up after himself. Front office staff went out of their way to contact Sears regarding my special order, and they came out to install as soon as they got their hands on the water heater. There are two companies with the same name. My experience was with the Waterford, WI one. I highly recommend this company.

Although most of the work I pre-paid through my Sears charge, I was extremely satisfied with the work done by this company and the plumber that did the work. He informed me of the additional cost up front and when I asked him to take the old unit to the street, he was more than happy to do so. He was a great guy, prompt and courteous and I'd call them again if I needed to.
