Nothing but headaches from the start. Started 2nd week of April (which was 2 weeks later than he originally promised.) We just finished last week, almost 6 MONTHS LATER! We were 100% up front with Nick telling him we did NOT want this project to drag out for months. He assured us that it would take "3-4 weeks per bathroom". Needless to say he did NOT back up his promise. We definitely felt that we were the bottom project of multiple home projects his crew was working on over the spring/summer. How does it take 6 months to do 2 bathrooms you may ask? Well when 1 worker shows up and works only about 3 hours and you only work 4 days of the week (rarely did anyone work on Fridays), then yes things will take 6 months.
I paid a lot of money for a NARI backed remodeler thinking they would take care of all the 'general contracting' issues. This was not the case with Sonrise. Every 10-14 days I had to call Nick and complain about the lack of progress. Next day, someone would show up and do 4-5 hours of work, then it would trail off again until I called and complained again. We signed a contract in February, and was promised a March start date. Worse case scenario we planned on the whole process being done by end of May. We had to reschedule graduation parties, relatives visits, vacations and holiday parties during the summer as I only had 1 working bathroom the whole spring and summer.
They placed a garbage container in my driveway. Again, I planned on it only being there for 2 months. They gutted one of the bathrooms in 1 day and literally had a toilet and vanity sitting in my driveway for over a month. After 6 weeks, the neighbors actually called the city and complained. I don't blame them, having to look at that for months and months. Sonrises' solution was to finally put the toilet in the garbage container and cover it with a tarp for about ANOTHER 2 MONTHS! Sonrise worked at their own pace and NEVER showed any urgency to get my job done. I heard every excuse as to why guys weren't showing up, cars wouldn't start, funerals, etc. I finally got fed up with excuses and was YELLING at him over the phone to just finish the darn job. Nick obviously had other jobs going on and I was the bottom of the priority ladder.
I actually ended up calling NARI and filing a complaint because the project wasn't getting done. They stepped in and called Nick and then he finally had his crew come in and rush to finish. I have to admit the quality of the work was good but at the end of the project, one bathroom FAILED the city electrical inspection, AFTER the bathroom was complete. So someone, either the electrical contractor he used or Sonrise didn't know what the heck was the electrical code. They ended up fixing the problem without having to tear up the walls but it was a clear indication of poor management and a lack for detail.
I have friends and friends of friends who do remodeling on the side and was tempted to use them on this but we wanted it to be done on a reliable schedule, not be dependant on a crew to work in the evenings after their regular job. That's why we paid the extra money to use Sonrise as we were expecting a professional managed crew that would get the job done quickly. They had unlimited access to the house EVERY day as we left a lock box key and they could come and go as they needed. It didn't matter. They did 3-4 hours of work and then moved on to another project.
So over all, good quality but unless you have 1/2 a YEAR to get a relatively simple project done and want to be frustrated beyond belief, I would NOT use Sonrise for any project.

It didn’t go very well. Scheduling was done fairly quickly and he came out and took measurements. However, I never received an estimate or plans.

My basement flooded back in 2009 and I had met Nick from Sonrise at my then place of business. I explained my situation and was looking for a quick turnaround on getting the work done since I had small children in the house. Nick was quick to come out and look over the areas that the work needed to be done and provided me with a very fair quote within a couple of days. I had gotten other quotes and Nick's was by far the most reasonable for the amount of work that needed to be done. Since I knew him from working with him and his clients at my place of business, I decided to award him the job. He got started as quickly as he could and provided all of the materials and labor needed to complete the work to be done. He was very courteous around the rest of my family and tried to keep the noise and mess as minimal as possible. The work was completed in a reasonable amount of time and was very well done! I was overall very pleased with the pricing and quality of the work. I still get compliments to this day from friends and neighbors on how nice my basement looks. I would definitely use him again for any future remodeling needs.

Mr. De La Rosa was very cautious about not dragging in any dirt on his shoes, it was raining on the day he came. He made sure my dogs were in a well ventilated area while spraying the walls. Also he left no mess when he was done. The counter tops were measured correctly and exactly what we ordered. Also the tile in the main bath was even and level, this was a big concern of mine. I had seen other peoples tile jobs and they were uneven at best. I was very pleased with his friendly nature and concern for my house.

The project overall was great. He is a very honest guy that listened to our problems and came up with solutions that were not very expensive. I would recommend him to my family and friends.
