We had a gas line to the fireplace already, so that made the transition easier. Genesee fireplace had some log sets in the showroom, and we chose one we saw there. It has heat radiant logs which give off more heat than other logs, well worth the added cost. They have a very natural look.Genesee Depot made a stop to the house to confirm the size of logs needed for the size fireplace we have, and explained the installation process. The installation was done about a week later and took about an hour. The installer explained how everything worked and made sure I was comfortable lighting it and knew how to maintain it as well. It was a pretty simple process, and was all done very professionally and quickly. I would use Genesee Depot again and would recommend them as well :)

The person that came to clean the fireplace laid down a large cloth to keep the hearth and carpeting free of any soot. He did a nice job of cleaning the logs. I did expect the entire floor of the fireplace would be cleaned and the and quot;sandand quot; and substance that would glow would be completely new. That did not happen. Overall a good job; however I would either be more clear with my expectations next time or try someone new.

We have been talking about getting a gas insert for our fireplace for several years. It is a nice fireplace, but we haven't used it because of the heat lost through a wood burner - very little heating benefit. We checked a few places and had a couple of estimates over the years. Due to the recommendations in Angie's list, we stopped in at Genesee Fireplace to see what they had to offer. We met with Charles who was very friendly and easy to work with. Once he understood what we wanted, he pointed out both good features and the points that might be of concern for several fireplace inserts. We made an appointment for him to come to the house to see the actual fireplace so that he could give us an accurate estimate. Following his visit, he sent us a written quiote which we accepted. Once the material arrived, we set up an appointment for installation. The experience was very good from start to finish. The showroom is clean and organized. Everyone we worked with was friendly and professional, and appointments were kept on time. We enjoyed doing business with Genesee Fireplace, and we have already recommended them to one of our neighbors. We would definitely use them again if the need arrises.

They were flexible in their scheduling, showed up on time and did the work in less than a day. They were also great about minimizing any mess, as we had just had new carpet installed. I would highly recommend them.

They came out to the house and checked our fireplace and basement and gave us an estimate of the size logs we would need and we picked out the one we liked at their showroom and two guys came out and installed it and showed us how to use it. We love it!

Charlie and the staff were great to work with! We had a floor to ceiling (approximately 18ft H x 6ft W) brick fireplace that we wanted completely torn down and replaced with a modern stacked stone. Genesse Fireplace was happy to take on the challenge. They completed the entire project from demolition to reframing, hanging drywall and building the mantel from my husband's drawing, staining it to match our new hardwood floors exactly. We now have a fireplace we will enjoy for many years.

Project went well, was completed on time and there were no surprises. Received on-site estimate within days of requesting one. Worked with staff at showroom to go over style, options, stone, mantel. Contract was executed as I expected. I was informed of the steps that would be taken to get the project done. Workers left work area clean at the end of each day of work. There were several professionals working on the project and completion of each step followed nicely resulting in a project that did not drag out. At the same time I was getting skylights installed. The skylight drywaller commented that the drywaller who did the work on the fireplace did an excellent job. I'm very pleased with the result.

I was pleased with it. They came out to measure the fireplace then gave me a choice of which gas logs I could pick from. They had a wide variety of products and they didn’t try to sell me the most expensive product, they tried to sell me the product that would work best for me. They actually talked me down from getting the gas igniter with a remote control.

They were incredibly professional and easy to work with. They even gave me a discount due to the unfavorable circumstances. They were very quick to respond and I would recommend them anyone. They sent out two guys, Rob and John, who were quite nice to work with. They were good natured, and stayed focused throughout the entire length job.

They are wonderful. When we purchased our stove they were able to hold the stove until we were ready for it. They are very helpful and curteous.

From my first contact via phone, both Dennis and Rob provided outstanding service with a in-home evaluation and a quote when I visited the showroom and chose my gas logs. They both answered my questions clearly and patiently. The installer who converted my system was on-time, professional and also spent time showing me how to use it and answered my many questions. All of this was completed within an acceptable time frame.

Very Well! They installed the unit, demonstrated its operation, explained necessary cautions and cleaned up their mess.

They came and measured our fireplace without obligation to buy to ensure proper fit (unlike another company who would only come out after an insert had been purchased). They always arrived when scheduled. They custom fabricated the fireplace surround for best fit on our stone fireplace. Work was done exactly as we expected and hoped.

We were very pleased with this experience. The price quoted on the phone was set with no further expense. Scott arrived at the earliest time in the window given to us. He was very helpful describing the types of gas logs available today, as well as the pros and cons of gas log versus a gas fireplace insert.

After weeks of visiting fireplace stores around the state, we were pretty discouraged. That is, until we hit upon Genesee. They are tucked away on a charming street. We were assisted ably by Dennis Wilson and another salesperson. They were professional and knowledgeable about their products and helped us come to a decision as to brand and size. Although we had many challenges in the rough and finish stages of our kitchen remodel, Genesee staff were at all times responsive, helpful, and professional. I have recommended Genesee to at least a half dozen of my friends and acquaintances in the past few months.

There was an ordering backlog of about 2 months when we placed our order in late November. The unit actually arrived a little early, by mid January we had an appointment for the next week for the installation. They installed a new chimney liner along with the fireplace insert. Since then, we have saved over $100 per month on our gas bills by burning wood in the stove. That's around a 30-40% savings! Well worth the price.

JIM BAIUER AND ALL OF HIS FOLKS WERE ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT. WE SHOPPED HIGH AND LOW BEFORE SETTLING ON GENESEE. NO ONE EQUALED THEIR RESPONSIVENESS OR WILLINGNESS TO WORK WITH US. FROM START TO FINISH, EVERYONE FROM GENESEE WAS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. RECOMMEND THEM ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT QUESTION.
