MUFFLER WERKS

I went to Muffler Werks after noticing the exhaust on my F150 was leaking into the cab. Knowing it was possibly the exhaust manifold, I was prepared for the worst, hoping for the best. I dropped my truck off a day before the scheduled appointment and they indicated that it sounded like an exhaust manifold. After some discussion, they pulled it in the garage (after 5pm) to see if it was good news or bad. It turned out to be the EGR tube, not cheap but a lot better than what I had feared. A call to the parts store indicated that it was an OEM part only. The local Ford dealership indicated they could get the part in a few days. Muffler Werks quoted the job and indicated what other things might cause the bill to go higher than the quote. After we discussed it, I decided to leave the truck with them so they could spray the connections and hopefully get them loosened without affecting the manifold.

Jump to a few days later, I stopped in when it was supposed to be ready. Unfortunately, the Ford dealership didn't include the EGR coupler and the one currently on the truck had been affected by rust. After I indicated that I needed the truck by Monday morning, they got on the phone with the dealership. The coupler was acquired and my truck was ready in 30 minutes as indicated. The bill came in and it was close enough to the quote for me to pay it all on the spot.
