Jason and John came out for the install and explained that it would not be possible to use the existing ducting because it would have required cutting through a floor joist based on their visual assessment of the ceiling. It would also be necessary to cut large holes into the drywall soffit above the cabinets in order to put new ducting in place. Because we had already invested time and money into selecting the range hood and installing wiring, we moved forward with the installation.
Overall, we was very pleased with Jason and John's work - they were personable, thoughtful and professional. They even fixed a minor duct issue in our basement while they were there. However, we do wish we had gotten a more accurate estimate/review from Duke about the scope of the work required as it appeared to be an easily and quickly discovered issue for Jason and John. Though the added cost of fixing the drywall will not be significant, it is another contractor that we did not anticipate having to locate, vet and hire. Our current kitchen remodel is the result of a catastrophic water leak so we were less than thrilled to have created more work at the end of this large-scale, unanticipated project.

The service providers are great. I've liked every person who has come to my home. The people on the phone are great - they answer the phones promptly and provide great service.
But whenever Bethke comes, they leave the house messy. I either need to wash the wood floors because they're tracking dirt in/out of the house, or I need to vacuum due to debris/insulation/etc. In this particular case, I needed to do both. It's not an easy job - entering someone's home and providing a service, and I understand that. However, out of respect for the home and the homeowner, I think Bethke should always be wearing shoe covers when entering a home and vacuuming up after themselves.
They provide quality service, so I will continue to use them in the future.
