Solar Panel Service, Skylight Service
The entire experience, after signing the original contract and prepayment, was a walk through h***.  This lasted period of contractual relationship lasted for over a year, give or take a few months:  disruptive, dirty, chaotic, costly, uncompensated damages to property; promised, prepaid subcontractors, services and products not delivered or swapped out.  Virtually all work conducted must be completed or repaired.  The extravagantly expensive solar panels are of a very out of date design and simply do not work, at all.  None of the performance and features of the solar panels that were originally promised were met.  We were deliberately manipulated and deceived; the prices of services and materials changed with unexpected changes in agreed plan.
Made a $29,000+ prepaid contract for above products and services, plus other work on windows and doors.Talked to original designer and builder of three solar panels on phone.Researched windows and solar panels which we had decided to contract.Did not research our primary contractor.Checked credentials of subcontractor1 and 2, and liked them both.  Agreed based on their respective credibilities based on local references and a personal meet. After unexpectedly long wait which was far beyond time frame agreed, solar panels were delivered which were not the product originally contracted; what was delivered was in no way comparable to the original; no specs were provided.
We order new state of the art windows for our first floor and basement. At time of installation of part of the window order [for first floor and basement], wrong windows were delivered. When partial order of correct windows (with wrong detailing) was delivered, a different subcontractor appeared, without timely or complete explanation, to install first floor and basement windows.  This contractor did not install sky lights. This contractor informed us that they would never work with Jason Radcliffe again, and would not return to follow up on any work conducted on that particular day.  They did not install the new doors.
Different workers finally arrived to install two new doors (not the models we had ordered) and complete installation of basement windows and caulking of the first floor windows.  The new crew were not from the subcontractor we had met and agreed would conduct the work.  There was no reasonable explanation except that these new workers were "better".
The new crew turned out to be Jason's teen stepson who was learning to do carpentry from the "crew chief" who had no references and was a post-teen worker with little skill or experience.  The work done by this "crew" had to be repaired, redone, and was in all cases left unfinished and shabby for each of the two doors.  Installation of each door remains unfinished.
Installation of the skylights in our bedroom loft was a catastrophe.  Details upon request. Our bedroom remains marginally inhabitable a year after installation. All work done by the virtual "crew" had to repaired or redone by an older experienced tradesman and homebuilder called in only to salvage the skylight debacle.
The skylights all leak.  We must pay a contractor to repair the installation of all 6 skylights and to repair the damaged roof we had installed within the last 3 years.
All work promised in the original contract was not completed.  Reparation for damages to our personal property caused by Jason's workmen was never made.  Clean up was not conducted after jobs were conducted.  Jobs were all left infinished. Many lines of work , materials and products paid for in advance were not delivered. The promised free energy audit paid for by Jason was not conducted.  We had it done by our own initiative in order to obtain a professional assessment of the work done "to" our home.  The Energy Auditor took pity on us and arranged to do the audit without charge (over $500).
Bait and switch was characteristic.Prepayment of new services and materials, which apparently needed to be added to the original contract, was required for continuation of all original work and products contracted a year before.
Details cannot be provided because some papers were lost during deconstruction of our house by Jason's "crew".Details provided above need to be reviewed and verified by Jon Aaronson, co-owner of the home, and spouse of Jane Walent, who is the submitter of this report.
