Mike removed the defective lock mechanism and replaced it with a suitable lock mechanism that does the job. The hardware was different than the hardware that was about 50 plus years old. The important point is the new lock works and the house is secure

I was looking for someone to come and fix my door that would not close and therefore not lock. There was a draft and it was evening. I needed this door secured. Michael Skott called and came over within 3 hours of my search and fixed my problem. He was very professional and easy to talk with. I was satisfied with him and happy to go to bed feeling secured in my home.

Although the work I needed done wasn't urgent, Mike made my job a priority. I was able to get a next day appointment. Through phone photos, Mike was able to see exactly what I needed done. As a result, Mike had everything he needed to replace/change my lock, and fix my deadbolt, to keep any nuisances out. And, thanks to Aardvark Locksmiths, no more ants can get in, either, since Mike tightened the hinges on my door so that it hung straight, eliminating the gap where the floor meets the door.

It took all day to have my locks replaced. He arrived at 9 AM left at 5pm. I was specific about one important lock in particular. Mentioned this lock multiple times that it must get done. He kept repeating that 2 other locks should get done first. When I got home all locks were done EXCEPT the one that was important. Two days later the door swung open hard from wind.Now I m replacing the door AND part of the door frame!!! His pricing was great but now considering my costs, not at all. One more thing, he left his work for over ( not have a needed part) an hour to go to hardware store! Later after talking to him before door broke, he said he d come out to get that done for an extra $40!!!!!

Aardvark did well, but I was told the initial charge would be $35 (comparable to the competition) and they charged me $80. They did not have much of a variety of locks so we had to take multiple trips to the store. After completing the job (which lasted over 6 hours), one of the handles did not work, and they had me take the handle apart and fix myself. Ultimately, everything is working well now.
