Yes, I recommend this pro

I went to Dr. Katz initially because my one cats was licking her incision from a "refix".  When I adopted her from the Humane Society, she had been spayed, however the vet that did it didn't take out her ovaries and she went into heat.  A constant state of heat.  So, she needed to have the ovaries removed. She started to lick after her stitches were out and then she also started to lick a spot on her back.  She licked so much, with her rough little tongue that she had created nasty wounds and was actually bleeding.  When I called to talk to the vet I had remove her ovaries, I was told that it would be the following week before they could get me in to see him. (including the weekend, it would have been 4 days).  I was then told I could see one of the "new vets" who would probably recommend "6 treatments of cold laser therapy which they had seen good results with"--there's a longer story here that has nothing to do with Dr. Katz so I won't go into it.  I needed to find a new vet and I called Dr. Katz' office. After talking to one of his technicians and explaining my trepidation, she actually got Dr. Katz' on the phone. He listened to my situation, asked me questions, told me what he thought was going on and had me bring my cat in that day.  She had a bacterial infection, gave me some medicine and an alternative to the cone to keep her from licking--which worked until my very smart but naughty cat figured out how to get around it--so we ended up having to put the cone/collar on her, but she is finally healing up.  Her tummy is completely healed and her back is getting there.  We had to get a longer cone because she even figured out how to get around the first one.  Dr. Katz is just very caring and takes the least invasive route to healing.
