We needed a new roof on our home because the Owens-Corning asphalt shingles comprising the existing roof were defective. We decided to go with Decra steel shingles and contacted L&L for an estimate. Dan Luzinski came out promptly and we accepted his bid. We thought the price was reasonable compared to other options.
The work was completed over two days in late March, 2011 and appeared to be satisfactory, if perhaps a little rushed at the end. However, shortly afterward some of the top course of shingles began to slip out of place. It was clear that they had not been attached properly. Dan had told me that if we had any problems, I should contact them and they would make corrections, so I called L&L a couple times but couldn't get anyone to call back. I finally found Mike Luzinski at their facility in Thorp and explained the problem in person. Still, no response. So I basically gave up and decided to try and fix the loose shingles myself. I still haven't done so, but have pushed them back into place with my foot several times (but eventually they will slip down once again).
Other than their unresponsiveness to the flaw in their work, I was happy with them. They were professional, friendly, and prompt. I had thought we might have them do some other work for us, such as installing rain gutters, but after this experience I think we would look elsewhere. I'm genuinely sorry that I can't give L&L a better recommendation. I believe they were trying to finish the job in two days, it was getting late on the second day, and I think they just got a little careless in order to finish. I think they could have easily corrected the problem in an hour or so, since they have the proper tools and knowledge, if I could have gotten them to come back.

"[member name removed], This is Mike, I told one of my guys to stop over there on their way home from a job to take care of the problem,. He told me did, I didn't hear anything from you after so I thought it was taken care of. I apologize for that, it was misinformation given to me. (That employee no longer works for us). I will be more than happy to personally come and take care of the problem. Had I known it wasn't taken care of I would have responded sooner. Again I apologize, we appreciate your business.
