I recommended Appliance Tech-Care to a friend who immediately expressed displeasure. It has taken a little time for us to write this, sorry. On the first visit they gave a 4 hour window, and then showed up 10 minutes late to that, and immediately said, oh right on time. He had only been waiting 4 hours. They did some procedure with the brains of the machine and got it running. It took 10 minutes and cost $109. The assistant began lecturing my friend about the quality of his detergent. At one point it looked as if the assistant was going to remove the dish washing liquid; labeling it junk. They were gone about a half an hour and the dish washer was broken again. They returned and this time did an accurate diagnosis. They returned the following day with the correct part, but made no mention that there had already been a service call. However, there was no new service charge. The main repair man asked several questions which I believe were designed to determine if my friend was on Angie's, etc. That labor cost was $56.00, bringing labor and service to over $160. for about 40 minutes work. I believe that the entire $446 would have gone a long ways toward a new machine. These service men need to rethink their attitude toward customers. Some of the grades above could have been lower. "I just found out about this review and I almost always will answer customers concerns. I was confused about this review, because I could not find anywhere in my database that I serviced Mrs [Member Name Removed]. Second hand conversations can get misconstrued easily and I had to do some back checking on what had happened on this job. I would have rather been reviewed by the actual customer, not a neighbor that was not there. The first service call request was for the machine not cleaning the dishes. When we tested the dishwasher it was running fine and we could not find any problem that would warrant replacing any parts. When we get a situation like that, we can only go thru the checks on the operation of the DW and we always ask what type of detergent is being used as many times people will use inexpensive brands that will cause a washability problems. Once we determine that we can find no mechanical problem, we will advise the customer of what we think could be the problem and tell them that they have a 90 day warranty on the service call charge and if they have the problem comes up again, we will come out at no charge to continue the repair. In this case the customer called back the next day and we immediately came out and then discovered the motor had seized up and was not turning. We explained the problem and the estimated cost he would have into the repair and gave the customer the choice of repair or putting the dollars into a replacement machine, He made the call to replace the motor pump assembly on the machine and we performed the repair. We allways give the customer the complete picture of the repair on a large job and if he decided to not repair the machine, he would not been charged anything, other than the oriiginal charges for the first trip out to look at the machine. I would also add that the charges would have been the same if we would have discovered the bad motor the first day, so he was not charged anything extra. I think that a review such as this is more a matter of buyers remorse than poor service on our part. We always strive to give the customer the best value repair and never tell them to repair an appliance that may not be economical vs replacement. In this case a new dishwasher would have been in the $750 area with the cost of installation vs $308 cost of the repair and the customer must have felt the same or he would have purchased a new machine."

Had a little trouble finding a repair place for a microwave probably should have started with Appliance Tech-Care. Have used them before to repair a dishwasher with good success. It was hit or miss on whether or not the microwave would heat. Two service people arrived right on time. They confirmed the problem, removed the microwave and took it back to their shop to diagnose. The following day they contacted me with the root cause of a failing magnetron. I authorized the repair and had my microwave back and installed within a week. They are professional, conscientious. very knowledgeable and work quickly. Only negative was that to remove the microwave they had to cut though some duct tape covering a ductwork joint. When they reinstalled they did not apply new duct tape so it was a little noisier than before.
