"I just found out about this review and I almost always will answer customers concerns. I was confused about this review, because I could not find anywhere in my database that I serviced Mrs [Member Name Removed]. Second hand conversations can get misconstrued easily and I had to do some back checking on what had happened on this job. I would have rather been reviewed by the actual customer, not a neighbor that was not there. The first service call request was for the machine not cleaning the dishes. When we tested the dishwasher it was running fine and we could not find any problem that would warrant replacing any parts. When we get a situation like that, we can only go thru the checks on the operation of the DW and we always ask what type of detergent is being used as many times people will use inexpensive brands that will cause a washability problems. Once we determine that we can find no mechanical problem, we will advise the customer of what we think could be the problem and tell them that they have a 90 day warranty on the service call charge and if they have the problem comes up again, we will come out at no charge to continue the repair. In this case the customer called back the next day and we immediately came out and then discovered the motor had seized up and was not turning. We explained the problem and the estimated cost he would have into the repair and gave the customer the choice of repair or putting the dollars into a replacement machine, He made the call to replace the motor pump assembly on the machine and we performed the repair. We allways give the customer the complete picture of the repair on a large job and if he decided to not repair the machine, he would not been charged anything, other than the oriiginal charges for the first trip out to look at the machine. I would also add that the charges would have been the same if we would have discovered the bad motor the first day, so he was not charged anything extra. I think that a review such as this is more a matter of buyers remorse than poor service on our part. We always strive to give the customer the best value repair and never tell them to repair an appliance that may not be economical vs replacement. In this case a new dishwasher would have been in the $750 area with the cost of installation vs $308 cost of the repair and the customer must have felt the same or he would have purchased a new machine."
