That went well.  They only charged the Big Deal amount.  He noticed that the previous owner had sided over and closed up the external dryer vent.  He save our lives.  He was pretty great and he didn’t charge us anything additional.  He cut a hole in the siding that was sufficient to let the air out and prevent a fire.  He then cleaned it out.  We were really grateful.

Sparkling Clean Air Duct Cleaning came over and they did a good job. Our living room is an add on to the original house. The dryer duct that connects with that is 25 feet long. It was totally filled with damp lint. They went out there and they sucked lint out of that thing for about an hour! I got an estimate from them to do the rest of the job. They had a young guy who was being trained by the owner of the business and it was interesting to talk to he owner. He had heaps of experience. He seemed very competent and experienced at what he did. They did everything right.

Even after being made to wait an hour outside our house (I was extremely late due to last minute work concerns), Tom was professional and friendly. Once he and his crewman began work on our HVAC vents, total work time came in just under three hours which is respectable considering the number of vents and returns (our house has 20 vents and 11 returns). Tom was also contracted to clean our dryer vent ductwork. He showed me some design flaws in the ducting and offered to repair/update them without going over his original quoted price range. Tom's work was superb. All vents and air returns were brushed, vacuumed, and replaced. He even took care of a mummified mouse that was found in one of the basement rooms.
Tom is passionate and honest about his trade and his business. He gives it to you straight and does not overcharge. Once he sets his quote, you can rest assured that that is what you will pay. I will recommend Tom and Sparkling Clean to any of my friends in the area. Our air is fresh and my allergies have calmed substantially since we've had the duct work clean (Tom removed large quantities of pet dander from our vents during the cleaning).

VAWe first had Sparkling Clean here to clean our badly clogged dryer vent using a special offer from Angie's List. He included an estimate to clean the air ducts. Since we'd never had the ducts cleaned and the house is 12 years old, and the price was very reasonable, we called him to come do that too! Very personable owner arrived on time with an assistant. They got right to work with very little disruption to the family - all of whom were home, by the way. (3 boys, Mom and Dad) The owner (who's name escapes me, sorry) explained what they found in the ducts (lots of dander on the main level from our lab/beagle mix friend) and ways to keep the house's air flow circulating better. He found a mouse in the ducts as well and even suggested a "bird cage" contraption that would fit over the outside fan vent - which is where he suspected the little vermin are entering the house. All in all, he was very helpful, professional and tidy. I would recommend Sparkling Clean to anyone.

He did an efficient job, and presumably the vent is now sparkling clean.
