Mertins Custom Cabinets

I called three vendors, and selected Mertins based on my initial meeting with Jim (the president).  I like the fact they are local, and prefer using local providers when all possible.  Jim came out, took all the measurements, and brought samples of wood, stains, etc.  The work was performed timely (it took a few weeks, which is what you would expect for a custom piece, no pressed plywood here).  I showed Jim another hacienda I had in my home that I wanted my new piece to resemble (it was bowed with panels, apparently something not easy to do in woodworking).  I was beyond pleased when my cabinet was delivered and I saw the end result.  It was heavy, quality, EXACTLY what I had asked for, and exactly what Jim had sketched on paper.  I would not hesitate to use Mertins again, or recommend them to a friend.  They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for.  Jim loves dogs, so if you want an instant connection, talk about Labs!! 

I hate working with contractors, but they were just excellent to work with. Lee Thorough was the gentleman who did all of the finish cabinetry work. As a team they worked together beautifully. They were very reasonably priced. All of the associates were very helpful and nice to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for cabinetry work.

I especially liked the designer who drew the entertainment center for us, by hand. She was very patient with us and our many changes. The resulting entertainment center is beautiful and all of our visitors ask how we found it. You can't find quality like this in a store. You have to make it custom, from people who are real craftsmen.
