Well, it went splendidly, and we are very pleased with the results. Yes, it cost a lot of money. On the other hand, we really got our money's worth, with competent service and quality materials. We asked for a deck with cedar wood and composite decking material, for long lasting, low maintenance outdoor living. They took down the old deck and stairs, put up a new one, and .... wow. The detail work on the cedar deck fascia is great. The overhead lattice (opted for instead of a slant-wood pergola selection) is very sturdy. They put in a below deck drainage system so the ground below the deck stays dry- we are likely going to board it in and make a storage area of this.
The only warning I would give is this-please make sure you know exactly what you are getting before you sign the contract, as their software for showing the construction details is not very good, and sometimes shows things that will not be installed in your deck. That turned out not to be a problem, but I did expect the drawing plan to look like the finished product! I was initially disappointed in the handling of the stair railings, but their competency in what was actually installed won me over.
I would definitely recommend this service to others.
(Why did I rate their professionalism as only good? Because a couple of their apprentices were a bit slack on one single day-they still got some work done, but I'm a neophyte, and thought I could have done both their jobs in the time it took them to do theirs (installing deck railings). I'm guessing they will get better with more experience, though.)

Screwheads Decking has excellent communication skills and follow through. As usual, there are bumps in the road, however, with Screwheads Decking the minor problems faced were resolved with open and honest communciation, great problem solving skills with an attention to detail and design. Again, I would not hesitate in recommending them to others and have them complete additional work for me.
