Due to weather conditions, the job had to be pushed back a week, but this was not a problem. The crew showed up on the day decided on and went to work. This was a fairly big job that went 4 days with the crew cleaning up each day before they left. During the job, my wife had a medical emergency and was hospitalized, Shaun bought her a plant and had the whole crew sign a card for her which was really unexpected and considerate, which I took to her in the hospital. When the job was completed, we had a walk through and any areas of concern I had were immediately addressed. We are very pleased with the appearance of our new roof and glad we did business with Murphy's Construction.

Shaun was great. He gave me a better deal than all of the other contractors I got quotes from. I was very happy with the work that he did and will definitely hire him in the future.

I swear, Shaun is the best contractor I've ever had EVER. You will not find a better guy or company. My house is absolutely beautiful thanks to him! Don't even think twice before hiring him!

Murphy's Exterior Construction was recommended to me by a coworker, for whom Mr. Murphy's company had done extensive work in a home renovation. I conulted Mr. Murphy to replace my roof on my home and garage as the home roof was about 15 years overdue and sagging due to neglect, and the garage was about 30 years overdue. As a first time home buyer in our current home mortgage fiasco, I was only able to secure an FHA backed loan. Mr. Murphy was aware this, but neither of us was aware of difficulties that would ensue. Two days before closing with all my renovation estimates submitted, the FHA informed me that I had to address/repair the peeling paint on my siding. As I did not have the funds to side my home, nor referrals for exterior painters, Mr. Muphy consulted two painters on my behalf with whom he had worked and subcontracted an exterior painter to assisst me in expediting the closing. Things get a little sketchy from here. There were some communication and business issues related to my own lack of exterior paintig experience, changing lead laws as well as improper work the previous owners had done on the house. There were a couple quality issues related to the workmanship of the team who actually painted the house and their lack of completing these to my satisfaction as outlined in the contract and according to lead paint laws. Mr. Murphy went our of his way to mediate and solve these issues and when we discussed the final work, after speaking with me, he re-examined the house, spent his own time and used his own materials to meet HIS OWN expectations where he felt the painting establishment had fallen short. He went above and beyond what we had discussed. He later expressed regret with the bahavior of the actual painters and the attitude of the owner and stated that he felt he could no longer use this establishment based on how they handled communication and the disappointing way they handled my complaints. (So as not to belabor this issue, I have previously provided a report of this painter and will defer to that) WRT to the roofing job, everything went according to contract, was on time, professional and all persons were very courteous. During our initial meetings/discussions everything was explained to me in details, using language I understood, and if not , explained to me in an alternate mannyer with patient professionalism until I understood. Mr. Murphy was also earnest in being understood, so that I had a clear idea of his suggestions. The contract was clear, with details spelled out and nothing was left to interpretation. And how did it go? Well, the roof looks great and no longer sags. Prior to starting, there were small amounts of water in my basement at three walls and three corners. The roof went on in June after the spring rains, and before the monsoons of last summer including the 8 inch torrential downpour. I had not one drop of water in my basement, from the day the job was completed through the monsoon and to this day. All the work stayed strong with no damage. My neighbors often tell me how good the house looks and I am told the work is good. Very happy. The FHA payment schedule was fine until the final payment. It took months for the final paycheck to be sent. And still Mr. Murphy was above board, after all the previous issues with the painter. So, as far as the FHA loan, I don't think either of us will be doing that again. And one more note, my 80 year old garage doors fell off in October and Mr. Murphy gave a great reference to replace and install a new door with automatic opener. I couldn't be happier. In fact, I have asked him to give me a quote for those soffits and fascia.

Had previously contracted with another company to install new gutters. Mr. Murphy acted as the expeditor, setting up dates so his team (him included) could remove double layer of old roof (in 9 degree temp.), have gutter installers here next day working with & around them & then finished the following day. I also had an issue on a flat rubber roof of an room addition. Mr. Murphy fixed that problem also, actually re-doing it again because he did not like the way it looked aesthetically. The crew behaved in a polite & professional manner throughout. The time they spent looking for old tile pieces, staples & roofing nails that had fallen in the snow left us with a good impression. The roof & chimney box looks great! Too bad there are not more service providers of this ilk.
